...now I start a new venture - freelance writing for the digital asset compute leader, MARA.

I'm very grateful for Bitcoin 🧡

I've seen some opinions on Bitcoiners getting wealthier by providing no value. I can't speak for everyone, but here's how I am getting wealthier by providing no value:

I go into my emergency medicine job and get verbally and physically abused (called names, hit, choked, threatened), serve an ever increasing number of patients with resource increases that don't keep up, do things that fundamentally change who I am in ways that can't be undone (work on dead babies with parents screaming in my ears), get exposed to dangerous pathogens frequently, work nights so someone is there to respond to your emergency (changing this because the pay isn't worth it), act as a social worker because that's my job now apparently, pick up extra shifts to fund my investments, and spend a lot of time maintaining my education and licensing.

Outside of that, I've spent literally thousands of hours studying a variety of topics covering the financial system, government, all sorts of investment topics, technology, philosophy, and other areas.

After all of that, I landed on Bitcoin and chose to store my extra wealth there. It's paying off.

I think some people are just fucking envious. I could have spent my time hating people who figured something out before me. Fortunately, I spent thousands of my hours learning from them instead.

Most of my focus and work in 2025 will be on providing value for those who also value freedom and Bitcoin. #Nostr and #Bitcoin are the way.

Anyone saying people like me produce nothing can fuck right off. I produced value and stored it in Bitcoin and all Bitcoin has done is what it was supposed to do. Full disclosure: a very tiny portion of my stack was bought out of spite using stimi money during Covid. I've since v4v'ed way more than that to devs and producers in this space.

It seems like people are called geniuses for doing this with anything else (Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, etc), but people who do it with Bitcoin are somehow different. It's all built on an internal image of what people will value in the future and betting on that thing. It turns out that people already value Bitcoin. You really don't have to be a genius to take a look around and conclude that the world needs Bitcoin. The fucking up and right chart can be understood by any simpleton.

Envy is evil and destroys people.

I have a friend who did nothing except buy some bitcoin a few years ago and leave it on Coinbase. Never sold a single sat. When it came time to finally withdraw to cold storage, they locked the account and it took about 3 months of back-and-forth providing more KYC and even being forced to buy and install anti-virus software (and provide receipts) before they would release the funds. Exchanges are a nightmare.

I feel like we're on the brink of something really really big here. The planets are aligning, the momentum is building. The world needs Nostr (and just might be ready to hear and act on that fact).

Enjoy this part. The before. The beginning. It feels scrappy and fragile; all the features are broken, we're not sure it's going to work at all. But in a few years we'll all be longing for this period again. 🫂

I turn 52 today 🥳

As a gift to myself I want to share the following with you:

We are smack in the middle of a war of ideas, and I'll tell you why this is good.

The battle is between us - the people - and the political class.

And winning requires that we constantly learn new, actionable ideas.

However, this isn't just an imperative.

Once we throw ourselves into the battle, we develop a passion for it.

You may have experienced it yourself:

Meeting new people and sharing and developing new ideas together with them is wonderful.

You discover that when positive, creative people get together, 1 + 1 is never 2.

When we meet, physically or digitally or we just read each others' writings, we often identify ideas that the other person didn't have before, enabling us to create new knowledge and more understanding together.

And sometimes, when you and I combine our ideas, we develop things that the world hasn't seen or heard before.

It might not be a gigantic innovation, and normally it's just a very, very small thing.

But it's our joint appreciation of the process itself that is so immensely rewarding.

Because we realize that 1 + 1 in the social and intellectual domain more often than not is 3, 10, 1000 a million or more.

Magical is the only way to describe this process, which is reserved to us alone, the humankind.

When this happens, you also realize that there isn't any limit to what we can achieve with more knowledge and understanding.

Immersing me in this form of social interaction gives me a constant dopamin rush.

I'm addicted.

Don't you ever force me into rehab.

I woke up at the age of 30, when I finally started reading non-fiction books of my own choice, instead of the books that the school and university obliged me to read.

When did you wake up and why?

Let's try this again...

Current #macro conditions are almost perfect for a non-recessionary dovish Fed pivot in mid-September.

The closest example in recent history is the mid-1990s Fed rate cuts, which didn't lead to--or coincide with--a major US recession.

Rather, the easing conditions helped initiate and support what would later become the famous/infamous dot com bubble of the late-1990s.

A weak (but non-recessionary) economy and central bank #QE is the perfect combination for rising risk assets (and especially, #bitcoin) in the coming quarters.

Just my opinion, of course. Feel free to disagree and side with the Doom and Gloomers... of which there are many... most of whom don't actually manage money... or manage it well. 🙃
