This is the policy whereby it is ok for someone who stole my credentials to spend all my money, but not ok for them to get my phone number so they can phone me up on a Sunday and gloat that they spent all my money.

How do they work out if images are pornography, or if they are simply "sexually suggestive", or if they are just artistic nudes, or if they have nothing to do with sex at all?

I don't know what client you are using, but it is possible to block pubkeys on the client side. Unfortunately the client will still download all the events for your blocked pubkeys from the relay, which is inefficient and costly.
In addition, the client I use (Iris) has plenty of bugs in this area and still often displays events with pubkeys that I have blocked.
Sadly at the moment the Nostr protocol is not yet mature enough to do this on the relay side. I have tried suggesting proposals to do it but the developers consider it a low-priority optimization (yet integrating with Bitcoin Lightning Network is mission critical 🙄)

Species extinction? Of many other species for sure, biodiversity is under serious threat. Unlikely that there is a threat to the human species completely, although there may well be mass famine, drought, war etc caused by our food and water supplies dwindling. Which will affect many in first world countries although they don't want to admit it yet. Even if 9 in 10 humans die that's still quite a lot of humans remaining.
I changed my lifestyle years ago, I'm completely zero carbon except for the occasional rare outing on my motorcycle. My house is heated and cooled by heat pumps, my electricity supply comes exclusively from renewables and nuclear. I don't use jet airlines at all, the vast majority of my transport is by EV, electric train, and sailboat. I don't eat beef, which contributes an order of magnitude more towards methane emissions than any other meat, although I do eat fish and poultry which have little greenhouse gas effect.
For the moment I am still (obviously) on grid, but I am considering what it would take to go completely off grid. I have heard some positive stories about homesteading for women, but I think there are risks and dangers as well.

"Hateful conduct" is the new catch-all reason for censors. After all, if someone was offended by what you say, then it was clearly "hate speech" by definition, right?
