What's a good place to get started using Linux? I'm not tech illiterate, but also not at Comp Sci.
I just got Ubuntu running on a RasPi, and gonna mess around.
I'm willing to out in the work.
Lol, we need details to determine proper penence.
I hear you.
I try to remind myself that there is crazy pressure on every front to self censor, some overt and others on a psychological level. The enemies of free speech have weaponized our humanity against ourselves.
To offend a protected group in any way is an unforgivable sin. That which is offensive is ever changing. The rules, by design, are unknowable. People will say, or not say, anything to avoid being identified as a racist, homophobe, transphobe, or whatever the next taboo will be.
It would take a person with iron resolve in their principles, and knowledge of the true intentions of such censorship - total control.
Most people aren't principled, and the intentions are well masked. Even asking questions has its own set of toxic labels.
I agree 100%. However, the margins are shrinking all the time.
I think most people just don't think about the logical consequences.
I am having an issue with the keyboard in #amethyst. When I hit backspace after a word, it deletes the space between that word and the previous.
Anyone else having issues typing?

Gotcha.
Unfortunately, the developer didn't take up the offer of the video's author to share his side of the story with a pretty big audience. Instead he seemed to attack the author and responded pretty unprofessionally.
I don't know what he's going through, but it seems like bad choices were made.
What were the main revelations that got you there?
Tying a bowline one-handed is always a good challenge.
I'm all about privacy and security, and I've done a lot of work to degoogle. I think GrapheneOS is a good candidate.
Any thoughts around this video I stumbled upon? I'd like to promote Graphene, but it would be nice to better understand the situation, first.
With governments and big tech aligning to suppress our rights, the constant propaganda working in their favor, and the focus recently turning towards bitcoin and other similar tech, what is giving you confidence?
I believe that it will probably survive, but that it's going to get bad. There will be a coordinated attack to either tear it down, regulate it in such a manner to defeat its intentions, or make it so toxic to the general public that it will be useless.
I know that there will be developers and proponents working to hard to combat the above. But, it will most likely be won by widespread adoption, and and people just ignoring dumb rules.
Exactly. Same reason why CBDCs need to be fully resisted.
RFK Jr. says he'd put up a statue of Snowden in DC, and pardon Assange on day 1.

It's weird; it says I've only sent 63 Sats, but I've sent thousands.
