Good question on the NixOS drama. I have not seen any of those issues impacting the releasing of software updates or any major news that immediate drastic changes are happening with the release schedules. It seems, at least on the software side, the git repos are business as usual. Also, I have not been following it too closely, as have to keep focused on the software needed for Sovran_SystemsOS.

Looks like the plan is to eventually run Signal over the LoRa meshnet. That would fix the encryption issue.

Hardware is probably in there somewhere, too. Device-side scanning of all your local content and what is displayed on your screen, pre-encryption, is the E2E encryption backdoor they want and need.
We need devices without this capability.
