My random topic for today is:

Choose your battles.

I think to make good decisions, it is advised to ask good questions from yourself. Good questions help you to highlight points, that make your decision easier.

One of such question can be "does it worth it?".

You can easily do not agree with people, or you can think they are not right. To convince someone to think about something differently is not easy. If they don't want to rethink the things, they may ignore your opinion, or get offended by it. This could also cause them to close up even more, and interpret your argument as a threat. This would lead to defensive discussion. Usually in such discussions, it is quite hard to convince the other party, if not impossible. Also such discussions can lead to anger, hate, and some other bad feelings.

Therefore, if you face such a situation, it makes sense to ask yourself, how did the other party react in such situations in the past?

If not well, you might ask yourself, does it worth to open Pandora's box up?

I will! I want to give it some time. Also I try to meet the other rule of thumbs:

* No coffee or alcohol before sleep

* Cold sleeping area

* Only sleep in your bed, don't associate it with something else

In theory these also help to fall a sleep faster and have higher quality sleep.

I started a new lifestyle. More sleep, fixed sleep schedule, more relaxation.

In theory, if you have a fixed sleep schedule, your body will get used to it, and you will be more well rested, and will sleep better. Also less sleep amount could rest you more.

At the end, if you are well rested and relaxed, your brain works better, your metabolism works better, your memory works better. You can be more efficient, you can have better ideas, etc. Sleeping is really important for a lot of life functions. Also if you work out, sleeping is needed for muscle building as well. So sleeping in my opinion shall be handled as the secret sauce.

Also wanted to have a reading time during the day, so I can read the books that I stacked up for reading.

So new schedule is:

9PM: phone off.

9-10PM: prepare for next day + read.

10PM: Sleep

6AM: Get up refreshed and relaxed

Let's see how it will work! Will report you on the matter.

I would add that pose expectations on yourself and not on others. You can only control yourself, so you can only control to achieve the expectations on you and not on others.

If you stay humble, be kind, and not expect too much, you will get positive surprises.

Incentivizing over forcing!

Rant starts:

We plan to go to a thermal bath. The website says, please don't bring any food into the bath area. Out of "good will", you can bring in small snacks and drink.

Emphasizing, they do it out of GOOD WILL!

They are authorized to retain any glass containers and "cool boxes". Also your picnic baskets MUST remain closed during the whole visit.

What?

I am going to a thermal bath, because I want to have relaxation. I don't want to go to a restaurant. If I wanted to go there, I would go directly to a restaurant.

This means, I don't want to spend money on food. I want to spend money on relaxation. But they are forcing me to buy food there or not to eat If I plan to spend the whole day.

This is totally not nice.

I can understand that they want people to spend more money. I can. It is fine. But they could do it differently.

Incentivizing over forcing.

Just make good food, that otherwise you wouldn't take with you. Make nice smell, that arouse people to go there and eat. Make nice looking food, that if you see in someelse's hand, you want to buy it either. Incentivize.

Let them choose differently, but make them want to choose you!

Forcing is bad.

Also their act of good will... Come on...
