better if everyone could purify their concepts and process/think from basics, as in thinking from first principles and with simple logical form.
it’s not good to think in terms of things that one does not like.
in this “activist” case, thinking in terms of the tiresome politics that we have had (left vs. right, red vs. blue, etc.) will only mire any other discussions or dialogue in that tiresome world, a paradigm that is better left in the past.

maybe in other words…since the early adopters are all already here (the ones who get on board with bitcoin ideologically, through curiosity & learning), other folks not so educationally inclined will get into bitcoin if it’s super easy for them or if it’s clearly the better choice for them in the market.
& perhaps you’re giving too much credit to the alt-coiners, etc. it seems to me that most of those folks merely got into that stuff for a get-rich-quick scheme/hope.

yeah, agree. and i think there are good uses of it too, but it’s all too often done in such a way that it is quite negative, mobby or icky. better to be direct & speak of issues with as much transparency as possible.
