I mean this with love in my heart, I don’t believe that Nostr is currently ready for the problems that come with scaling up 100k users right now or even doubling their user base. Not that I have that pull, I’m just saying.
More users = more problems
A mass amount of crypto bots currently is the type of thing that would make Nostr unusable for the plebs here currently.
I’m also not fully convinced that I want an X vibe here. Not while building is happening. The people won’t appreciate the tech so they will complain that there isn’t enough censorship while simultaneously providing no solutions.
Quality over quantity is preferable right now.
What’ most likely is that the vibe will become too corporate on X for the artists and shitposters and they will go out and seek a vibe and find it here. Then the people will follow awhile later because they want to feel like they are in touch with the culture.
Overreaching government regulations including censorship requests of innocent citizens voices won’t be enough to get the people to leave, they will just get mad at Elon.
In many cases, money is on the table at X now so those who claim to “love freedom of speech and hate censorship” will be less likely to speak out against government censorship requests of innocent citizens rights on X. Those types don’t actually care about freedom for all, they care about getting paid. They will say whatever makes them the most.

As of right now, most survivors will probably ultimately do better on corporate tech long term. There are protections in place that won’t be available here.
The survivors, advocates and activists that will NEED to be on Nostr will be those who would otherwise be silenced at the hands of the government, corporate or state ran media, corporate tech and those in positions of power.
Believe it or not, that’s more folks than you might think. They remain silent out of fear for their lives. Understandable.
