Why do you think that besides #Bitcoin, some cryptocurrencies have been there for over 10 years and despite their poor performce against #BTC they continue to exist and thrive?

My take:

Initially I thought, all of them but a handful will fade away and never be heard of again, but for my surprise, many are still trading after many years, Why?

The more I analyze the available data the more I conclude it is not about performance or profit, and I got to the Apple iPhone phenomenon...

When the iPhone was launched I was shocked on how many technically savvy friends, colleagues and acquaintances were buying it. I study the mobile and concluded it was an overpriced device with many deficiencies for me to even consider it an option, in short SUCKS, the worst one at that time, it had one radio instead of two, you could not do data and talk at the same time and almost no customization. It simply sucks. Yet an incredible success, Why? The Apple fan base, or should I say, the cult? Tesla now?

Extrapolating to Crypto currencies I believe is the same principle, some of them keep being strong over time because of the fan base, toxic maxis that become youtubers, tiktokers, influencers, developers, periodic conferences, PR campaigns, etc, same as with Bitcoin

Bitcoin is not much different on that arena, but it has the huge advantage of being the first to market and the fact that walked the path of the HERO (fought three big battles; 1. blocks, 2. miners bans, 3. ETFs approval; and won raising victorious)

Lot's of people hate Bitcoin maxis, believe they are part of the problem as of why there is not more adoption, maybe that is true, but I believe they are the cult base, without them, their strong believe in the ecosystem and its ethos, Bitcoin would not be the undisputed alpha dog

What are your thoughts?

if you were using Primal most probably you are not that into testing beta wallets cashu mints, etc...

I would suggest you consider Wallet of Satoshi as your default wallet for LN⚡, you add it in your profile as the wallet to receive zaps and to zap people, just push and hold the ⚡zapping icon and add the usual amounts you like to zap, 21, 100, 1000, 10K, etc, do nothing more,

When you are going to zap, just click ⚡, the app will open any LN capable wallet you have installed, if only WOT, choose it, the invoice will load ,just pay it. minimal fees or none.

One more cool thing, when setting the amounts you can choose how you want your zaps to be: Public, Private (only you and the receiver will know), Anonymous (nobody)... Amethyst is full of cool featured

If you are not into new tech testing, I will suggest you forget about NWC, that is for beta testing wallets with Cashu and NWC (network wallet connect), if you are not curious stay away, is fun, but you will lose sats for sure, everyone testing does.

tough question at this moment, I am testing, but as someone else mentioned before, an export to a file is needed as auto backup on a folder the user selects, the user should do cloud sync, if something happens the user will be able to recover the non spent amounts using the recovery option

Is very good , the backup and recovery needs work, lots have been done so far, more needs to be done.

There should be an export file to recover funds while moving to another mobile or simply recovering from a major issue. At the moment is a text copied to the clipboard, you need to paste it on a text file. After that, how to recover it is a mystery to me, I am assuming by redeeming but have not tried yet.

The perfect solution would be auto backup to a file daily and manually we can take care of the cloud sync

Why isn't nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg displaying my notes on my profile anymore? Can see them in Nostur and I use the same relays in both clients... #asknostr

Change to Amethyst, Primal needs a lot of work, I believe their filtering and censoring algos are causing a lot of issues

Minibits is an Android app, you can configure the NWC and it will pop a notification for every zap you get, I test it for a month it was cool.

Another alternative is using NTFY with Amethyst. You will receive notifications for DMs , mentions and zaps

Phoenix Wallet, self custody.

For #Nostr, if tech savvy, minibits.cash, coinos.io, nuts.cash, npub.cash, all them fun to learn and use. Coinos.io ( nostr:nprofile1qqst4qyeqenw7zm0fwjsty68h6cnys5jre2xd8ngqpjv5a2j26s78fspzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm0d9hx7uewd9hj75a0pev ) probably the one easier to use with a web based appealing UI and supporting on chain BTC as well, PIN and 2FA, only missing Amber or browser extensions to sign in with your nsec to be awesome

Well, it finally showed in his feed, so I assume he did, a while later though, very odd, Primal really sucks

What's the #nostr set up with the least friction to onboard people so they are able to zap?

nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg I believe have their Primal wallet closed to new users.

nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm I believe funnel you to their Hub and is now a paid service only? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just trying to find a way I can take someone's phone and set them up, send them some sats and let them zap away in under 5 mins.

Primal is a very bad experience, even the feeds are odd and is missing more top of the line features in #Nostr

Amethyst probably would be the best option and suggest then to zap with WOT (Wallet of Satoshi) with zero configuration, they click zap and the app will offer to open WOT to zap outside of Amethyst

For those more savvy, coinos.io, minibits.cash, nuts.cash, npub.cash.

Seems to be censoring, I tested #Primal a while ago, censoring, post not showing, taking long to show as if a bot was vetting and deciding if to post or not, a quite unpleasant experience, I'll bet you won't last a month, see you soon on #Amethyst or #0xChat with another wallet...

Nice take, I still think is correlated and therefore the short term impact could be hard, specially because of the ETF, it is likeky that the majority of baby boomers and X generation ingesting throughout ETF will dump
