Summary notes follows

Release 23.08 Bitcoin Core Fee Estimates, LND Messages and More

This is another release before TabConf which includes two new panels, and some small improvements to some existing ones. There's also a new utility script for setting up a new panel using templates

Bitcoin Core Fee Estimates

Up until now, the only Nodeyez panel that provided fee estimates was that built around the Mempool.space data, whether accessing remotely from the publicly available service, or using a self hosted instance. Now however, a new panel has been added that graphs the fee estimates over time with targets of 1, 3, 6, and 144 block times. Its worth noting that Bitcoin Core pushes a request for 1 block targets to 2 blocks, so often the 1 and 3 blocks overlap.

The chart is built up by rendering the chart once for each of the 4 data sets, over top of each other. When a new block is found, a vertical line is drawn to help show correlation in time as a contextual clue. Future enhancement plans for this panel will be to make the data rendered as either 3D blocks, or perhaps translucent to see through to the back.

LND Messages

While keysends aren't new, and other apps and services in the past allow for sending messages, I was inspired to create this new panel based on @BitcoinCoderBob recently doing daily keysends to send a message to all nodes his node could reach on the Lightning Network.

The listing of messages can report either in chronological order or reverse chronological order if you want the newest messages first. You can also restrict reporting to a specified number of days ago.

For sending messages, check out BitcoinCoderBob's tool at https://github.com/BitcoinCoderBob/Satogram

New Panel Utility

A new panel creation script has been added to the utils folder for developers. Running the script prompts the user for a name, description and category for the panel. With this information it generates basic scaffolding for the panel using templates making it easier to start a new custom panel.

TABConf

This is the last release before TABConf. If you're attending TABConf, I hope to see you there! Nodeyez will be one of the Builder Days Projects at the tables on September 6 and 7.

Good day!

Welcome to my #ZapFountain, #InkblotArt.

Today is August 29, 2023. Block height of 805343

INKBLOTART IS STILL LOOKING FOR SPONSORS!

Today's pleb in focus is nostr:npub1wl89d7yazg500lehg08p45dj2jzhhyqg2erj067458e3wd30djns4zn8lu

Punk Nostranaut is a pleb with experience in many areas. Bitcoiner, kind, DIY energy, all around solid pleb you should include in your follows. Experienced in many intriguing areas of life, he speaks from the heart. Don't ask the question if you aren't ready for the answer.

What do you see, Anon? Comment and get zapped! (If you use our hashtags in your comment, you will get zapped again!)

This #InkBlotArt looks like the reflection of a Blue Angelfish that managed to jump out of water and is entering back in.

About .0001% of the population uses Nostr everyday. Its a very nascent protocol. Keep building.

Reminder : By the time the Fed calls a recession the economy will be rebounding out of it

I guess some is muscle memory of patterns for word parts to flow faster.

Im lucky that I started over a summer when I was in school fearing I wouldnt be able to type and managed to be the fastest typist in my school at the time as a result.

Three tips...

- practice practice and never look at the keys

- mix it up with typing games. Theres actually fun ones now.

- relax and flow like the weave

No. Simple QWERTY and I havent splurged on a mechanical with the keys I like. I also think the belief that Dvorak layouts are faster than QWERTY is a myth. Maybe Workman layout as it seeks balance, but not worth it for me to spend time training for comparison.

Argh today has been so much uninstall, install, uninstall, install debugging

You are correct on your guess regarding Xinhau.

My typing speed varies. On mobile Id guess around 7-10 wpm. On a PC I top out around 110 for text statements when going for speed, but typically stay in the range of 85-90.

I had this realization over 10 years ago when I was tasked with building a system that would retrieve news articles from news websites, parse them, and do keyword analysis to track for pathogenic and other biological and medical trends. There is very very little journalism in news. Most is AP reference and written for grade school. Back then, outlets like Xinhau were really bad at making believable propaganda but they also werent promoting AP rubbish, and as such could still produce useful signal. News24 was one of the most objective sources. The only thing worth reading news wise in the US is local level small town papers. The cities are just left opinion pieces, AP shit, or filler of old topical non-news based articles.

Oh thats easy. Its a Big Earred Cow
