I just re-did this test with the watch in sleep mode and out of sleep mode and it unlocked with the phone both times.

I must not have waited long enough for the effect to take place the first time.

Just now:

Watch is in sleep mode.

Take it off my wrist.

put it on my wrist.

unlock phone.

leave phone awake and unlocked.

hold the turny button on the watch.

Asks for pin. 🔒

Just now:

I unlocked the associated phone.

I put the watch back into sleep mode and took it off my wrist.

DND did sync into "sleep" mode while it was unlocked. The associated phone remained awake and unlocked.

I put the watch back on and woke it up by pushing the turny button for a while.

It asked for the pin. 🔒

I will try to recreate this again by letting it die all the way to see if that has any effect.

While the watch was dead, I took the associated iPhone off of "Sleep" in DND.

Also worth mentioning, Wi-Fi has been disabled for the watch via the settings. It only communicates via bluetooth. Which should have been working. :blutoth:

However, the DND setting did not sync across the devices like it usually does, so maybe it wasn't. :ms_shrug:

I think I just discovered a loophole in Apple Watch Security™️ :applebees:

1. I turned on "sleep" in do not disturb.

2. I let the watch die all the way.

3. Significant amount of time later I charged the watch all the way up.

4. Put the watch on my wrist and woke it up by holding down the little turny-button thing.

5. It does not ask for pin to unlock the watch. :000:

6. Buy stuff with Apple Cash/See through iphone Camera/Verify logins/do anything I want.
