Why does primals photo upload suck so bad?

I’m concerned about healthcare and im young and healthy with no children. Could not imagine having multiple children, let alone anyone with conditions. Dunno how people survive.

No, i havent. Carnivore was complex to try and implement. Does not rlly fit in with my current lifestyle

Cheers to you guys, everyone who believed, its been a long journey.

I despise these types of posts

Having to do work on twitter reminds me why i left lol

The introduction of badges changed Reddit for me. The psychological need to continue using Reddit to continue my daily streak is strong.

I noticed this after the first few badges. 5 days 10, 20, 30, etc. I wanted to keep going because I was getting notifications that I was completing something special.

After earning a couple badges, I found myself forcing myself to use Reddit every day just to keep my streak alive. Then, badges started to become more rare in quality as the streak day count increased. I wanted to collect them all! I wanted to see if I could earn the legendary ones. 365 days? 500 days? Hell yeah!

I don't particularly care about Reddit all that much. Most days I'd be fine just reading. I don't need to upvote or downvote. Or at least I thought I didn't? Badges changed that for me.

I see this with my children, especially my daughter. Her and her friends all use Snapchat to communicate. She cares about keeping her streaks alive with friends. It's a silly little indicator in Snapchat, just like Reddit, that keeps pulling people back in.

I know that we all recognize the issues with legacy social media. I know these tactics are meant to keep bringing us back, so that the algorithms can keep us enraged and engaged, to steal our attention. We can do better!

It's no secret that user retention is horrible across the Nostr ecosystem. Could a Nostr client implement something similar to these streak badges without the negative aspects to keep people coming back? Definitely.

Nostr doesn't have evil algorithms. (Someone could build one though. It's an open protocol!) I believe a developer could implement a similar feature to draw people back into their application. We have a badges spec. The badge could be automatically assigned and displayed on the user profile as their engagement increases.

I guess technically this doesn't even need to be implemented by a specific client. Someone could essentially write a DVM for this, right? This would be a large task though. The DVM could use the nostr.band API or search.nostr.wine API or something similar to do this and assign these streak badges automatically across "all of Nostr" or even just a specific set of relays. Relay operators could implement something such as this too. It's all possible.

Thoughts?

I used to be admin on a runescape private server with a very active forum, forum posting was one of my favorite parts abt it and i was heavily hooked on posting often to get my post badges. You’d get a cool glowing crown next to your name and i think your name would also get a glow effect. Good old days.

I'm done with the carnivore diet. 🐄

I defeated carb addiction, and boosted my testosterone with lifestyle changes, in 5 months.

Long read:

I'm currently 5 months into a cut, working on reducing body fat. Before that, I ate a carnivore diet for 5 years, paleo/keto since 2011.

I agreed to add 60g of carbs pre-workout at the start of my cut, per my trainer. Also 1g protein/lb body weight, with fat for the remaining calories.

Carb addiction is something I battled my entire life. Moderation was impossible for me - the cravings were the worst! Keto and carnivore diets can be lifesaving for people with this issue.

That said, I still couldn't lose stubborn body fat, so I was willing to make changes.

The cut was going great initially, but my energy levels dropped off a couple months in. I felt like a zombie. I knew at some point it could happen, and I know hormones are impacted by a cut.

I had blood work done pre-cut, and my total testosterone was 575ng/dL. Normal for a mid-40s man, and I always felt great & healthy. No complaints!

10 weeks later: total T dropped to 205 ng/dL. 😲

My body was telling me something needed to change.

For the first time in nearly 15 years, I switched to a high carb diet. I started eating 165g carbs per day, timed around pre & post workout meals.

My weight skyrocketed ~10lbs, even with only 1885 calories/day. Most of that was likely water weight, but my workouts at the gym started progressing at crazy levels, likely because of increased muscle growth.

Even so, it felt bad seeing that scale number shoot up when I'm trying to *lose* weight. I rolled with it, understanding that body recomposition can take many months.

By the end of November I felt incredible. Energy through the roof, huge mood improvements, etc. The carbs were working! So I decided to get more blood work done. The results?

Total testosterone jumped to 1005 ng/dL. Free testosterone 205.2 pg/mL. 🤯

This...WAS a surprise, to say the least. WOW!

My long break from carbs helped overcome the addiction and cravings. For the first time I can moderate these foods with ease. This is the biggest win so far, and I've had a lot of W's recently.

My perfect diet down the road (post-cut), will still be heavy on beef, but also foods like fruit & honey. Never processed garbage.

It took a long time to fix this issue, but it's real growth to be able to have a healthy relationship with carbs. I still have a ways to reach my current goal, and lots of building to do after that, but I thought I'd share this interesting development.

Can't say I expected my total T to drop 50%, and then nearly 5x within a few months, like it was the #Bitcoin price chart. 😂

(FYI: all blood work took place early AM in a fasting state)

Crazy. I do think, and only based off personal experience and opinion, that carbs are good to have for most people, if you can regulate intake and focus only on high quality carbs. I always workout better when ive had some in the day.

As a kid kid, i got a ton of stuff. Like 5-10 toys. Once i was into preteen-teen years, it was one big gift (think like xbox, bb gun, iphone) plus maybe socks, new pajama pants, or a hat, or a robe. Then a stocking with candies and deoderant and such.

Now my family has changed and grown a lot (and we’re older) and we do white elephant because it makes it simpler for everyone. We do like $100 budget for that.

Stop heating yourselves its bad for the environment

The new ios update made the photos app so dog shit, why, why ruin a perfectly good app

Ive been thinking about doing this. Do you just take everything off then throw the pulled apart body into a boiling pot for broth?

Happy thanksgiving, im thankful to Nost
