I was supposed to pick up some clients flying in from Maui tonight and they weren't able to get to the airport to catch their flight because of the fires. They haven't been reachable by phone as cell service is unavailable there right now. My boss is from Hawaii and told me even 911 is unavailable. He has friends that have already lost their houses and businesses. Absolutely devastating.
Damn, what was the idea you forgot?
I don't think Bitcoin needs drivechains. It doesn't snow in cyberspace and they might damage the information superhighway.
Nostr feels like Bitcoin overload sometimes. It's never see heated debate about drivechains anywhere else.
Ah right. Yeah that's why I did that because I knew Amethyst does have the capability of displaying those kind of notes. It might have but shown because it's dated two days ago when I saved it as a draft. I'll figure it out eventually.
Prepping the coffee maker the day before so I just have to turn it on in the morning is the nicest thing I've ever done for future me.
Yeah I might be wrong about that. I could have sworn I'd seen articles on my feed before.
You may be right. I might not have seen it because it used the date of my draft as the publish date.
Many of the things that make nostr great were inspired by Bitcoin. Censorship resistance, permissionless access, decentralization, and more are core properties of both protocols. Almost all the devs are Bitcoiners and implement zaps on their clients, so even if you get someone to try it out without ever mentioning Bitcoin they will still be exposed to it almost immediately when they get here just from the UI.
Unfortunately that means that whatever biases they have towards Bitcoin will be projected onto nostr as well. Those that already dislike Bitcoin will go back to X or wherever and use the association to talk shit. Once the association is made between the two I don't think there's any way to disentangle them.
Plus many Bitcoiners here wouldn't want to anyway. I see people talk about how nostr is the way we are going to supercharge Bitcoin adoption. If people can understand why nostr is good and works well then they will be closer to understanding those similar elements of Bitcoin.
Nostr doesn't need explosive growth to succeed, it just needs to keep chipping away at the establishment just like Bitcoin has been doing for 14 years. This is the long game we are playing, and Bitcoiners are nothing if not patient.
On desktop you can use a browser extension to store your nsec locally and sign notes for you. The two I know of are https://github.com/fiatjaf/nos2x and getalby.com
Also if you save a draft on habla it will use that date as the publish date when you go to post it later.
### Make your notes look very official
If I had anything to say, I'd put it here. **I can bold important things**. Does it work?
* Bullet points

3. Third thing
4. ~~Strikethrough~~
++Underline doesn't seem to work++

Article type notes do not appear in the #Amethyst feed, so if you wrote one be sure to post a link to it as a regular note.
