I make apps for retards, like LNBeats, Music Side Project, The Split Box, The Split Kit, Sovereign Feeds, CurioCaster and Transcript Search Tool

There’s definitely tools out there if you want to self host. I know a guy. You can do it for $1 per month with bunny cdn. They even let you pay your bill in BTC which is cool.

I’m pretty excited about my DIY rubber stamp business cards. Hope to hand a few out at the Boostagram Ball Live event in Austin on Monday

Here's why I built Music Side Project.

"As a Bitcoiner, you know the adage, “Not your keys, not your coins”. Well, the same applies to your RSS feed. I understand many of you think a podcast is something complicated, and you need a dedicated podcast hosting company to handle all the complicated stuff for you. And if you're a musician, you may not be the most tech savvy, because you were too busy learning the guitar and dating beautiful people and never messed around much with computers. The reality though, is RSS is simple, Really Simple. It allows you to Syndicate your content Simply, Really Simply, sort of like a Really Simple Syndication (RSS). I think we've forgotten that, and have offloaded our digital sovereignty to tech nerds and are willing to pay them $10 a month or 10% of what our fans send us for doing something we can do ourselves."

Just installed Start9 and AlbyHub on this guy. It was surprisingly fast and easy.

I also heard back from nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm and they said Alby was designed to run on a device with a third of the resources, and they're hoping to get devices for a third of the price.

For a $30 device, (and I would argue even $80) there's really no reason for even a podcast listener to not have their own wallet other than it's 'too complicated'. Which it's not, it just means you're too lazy or too stupid to figure it out. It really was quite simple. Building a Wordpress website was considerably more confusing than creating a brand new wallet.

The last two years I have not bought #Bitcoin. I have been focused on earning it through nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 via Value4Value for my podcast. I’ve lived a whole life since I started, now I’m on a new adventure. More podcasting, more content on #Nostr, and more Bitcoin! This ain’t hype, it’s real.

And I see your hosting through Podhome. Kudos for picking a hosting company that supports your values.

I think the original idea was to call it lnaddress and just use it to fetch a static file with all of your payment options, which would include lnurl. At some point it got hitched to lnurl, and I’m not take sure why. I like the idea of having a link to a static file I control with all my payment options, which may include lnurl. Tying it to lnurl or lnurlp as an options file has line of made it more confusing and I’m not sure what the rationale for it is.

If I understand correctly, the idea is to move to an externally hosted file that has all of your payment options. As your options change, it’s simply a matter of updating that one file. Right now, if you’re a guest on a podcast and your wallet changes, you have to ask every single podcaster to update every single value block you appear in. With the external file, you update one file and every app will now pull in the new address.

If the Podcast Index ends up sunsetting the Podcaster Wallet shim, and I think they should (the feed is the source of truth), a think a lot of those Bitcoin podcasters that are still using bullshit podcasting hosts that don't support the value block will know and care deeply about it.

If you're a Bitcoin podcaster, and you haven't switched to a host that supports your values via implementing the value block, why not?

I'm thankful to the PC2.0 community for getting me interested in BTC. I first heard about it from an acquaintance in Jan. 2018. After watching the bull/bear cycle, I thought, nope, not for me, too speculative. PC2.0 using the lightning network is what got me looking deeper into it. This is one of those rare times in my life that I feel like a blind pig stumbling across a truffle, and I'm thankful to have been part of it.

Got this little beauty in today. It’s called a kolrosing knife, and it’s used to carve designs into wood. I’m very excited to start learning a new skill to add more handcrafted beauty to my life.

Yeah, I have a music side project branch that saves the files locally. I was thinking it would be cool to load MSP on your own Start9 and host all your album’s on your own machine

Can Start 9 be used to host your RSS feed or website?
