Pura Vida!

Yet another great reason to swap your BTC for XMR and let the NPCs circlejerk with Trump about their "freedom money".

IMO they dont need a fork, they just need to outlaw non KYC transactions. Its a fully transparent ledger, so its easy to connect it with a KYC database and force the usage on all businesses, exchanges etc.

BTC is seriously fucked already, it lost its properties as P2P money, lightning is mostly used with custodial solutions, which is just Paypal on Bitcoin and invites mandatory KYC.

I recommend reading "Hijacking Bitcoin", it will give you a new perspective on what happened during the Blocksize wars.

I was a big believer in Bitcoin and recommended it to many people - not anymore. Now the only thing i recommend for freedom and sovereignty is Monero.

Havent had problems with Merchants but with exchanges and instantswaps. Bisq only moves the problem to the next sucker imo.

I am afraid we will use AML tools ourselves in the near future so we can make sure we are not buying tainted or coinjoined coins on DEXes.

I think he is facepalming all day. Because people call a completely transparent ledger which scales through custodial solutions "Freedom Money".

Whats the point of a coinjoin when you know afterwards that a coinjoin was used and the coins are now tainted and not accepted by many exchanges?

Ii am seeing the development into a future where non kyc btc transactions get harder and harder through regulation and aml/onchain analysis.

You have to interact with businesses, they will comply with aml and kyc.

KYC data will leak, others will know how much you have etc. - the chances of BTC turning into a nightmare are pretty high imo.

A instantswap told me their AML tool AMLBot marked the coins as having been used in gambling, 4-5 transactions ago. Too high of a risk for them.

It is permissionless but if you risk going to jail for using it, how does that help you? Who will accept it?

Whats your plan when the gov bans bitcoin?

IMO the chance they are banning is relatively low. BTC is no problem for the state, it does not work as money, it is a "store of value" now. There are numerous stores of value, no problem for the system.

It was a p2p currency once, that is a serious risk for the state. A store of value is not, just like Gold.

Much better alternative as money than BTC. In the end, also a better store of value when you think about it longer

i would say as long as bitcoin is a transparent ledger, of course KYC and AML will turn it into a surveilance monster.

As tainted coins are a reality, we will have to AML each other as nobody wants to receive tainted coins which will cause problems for the receiver in the future.

BTC is doomed if nothing changes.
