Subscriptions create monopolies because users have to allocate a chunk of money to a service, limiting their ability to pick and choose. Eventually the service shows content it wants users to see and less of what they want to see.

don't hold your breath. bitcoiners are so stupid and off track that they can't do privacy anymore without sacrificing self-custody, and no matter what they try to come up with, the DNMs won't touch it anyway.

the #ecash hype brought me into #monero 's arms. i'm grateful for that. and i know of many others but they don't admit it publicly. i don't want to be misinterpreted. there's no cynicsm here. i use ecash for small amount transactions myself and it's fun but it did help me understand that scaling is just not possible. you can't solve the trilemma and you don't have to obsessively built everything on bitcoin. with ecash you already moved so far away from bitcoin that bitcoin does basically nothing for you anymore. you now have custodians, middlemen, inflating the supply cap etc. at this point you can just use #monero , seriously.

Monero will need eCash eventually for micro payments. Monero does give users greater privacy from the mint though. This might be it's biggest advantage over Bitcoin eCash.

I think when we get to this point, have any sort of money won’t even matter much.

What if you lost your seed? What are they going to do and how would they know? They can’t do much.

This is why we bitcoin. Bitcoin gives people the ability to store their wealth in an asset that is extremely hard to confiscate if secured properly. Bitcoin gives you leverage from which to fight back against this type of overt Marxism.
