Inventor of the word “spywall”. Proof: https://damus.io/note1crepuk77r7dxpugv8vqh5de8xnatxlu2rmztxd70nuhs686pdfssw28plm I do bitcoin stuff. Heard about Bitcoin in 2011. Didn’t act on it until years later. 😅

The #nostr protocol needs a way to cryptographically count or tally all notes.

This way it becomes possible for clients to detect forms of censorship of those that you follow. Maybe even make it visible in some way which relays “forgot” to forward a note.

A great way to be not just a follower but a Super follower or a pleb on #nostr is to relay their notes with your private relay. It may not be possible to relay all notes from everyone that you follow, but you should at least be able to relay the messages from some of the NPUBS that you follow.

Clients should have a “SuperFollow” button that basically instructs your own relay (maybe the one that’s running on your own phone) to start relaying the notes that are coming from this NPUB.

It's basically impossible to know if an NPUB is being silently censored by parties on the NOSTR network.

In order to be able to see the effect of censorship, all messages should have a cryptographically verifiable tally or count number. Every nee messages is +1.

That way, if only one message does get through to a receiver, it will become immediately apparent that a number of previous messages was successfully censored.

To make the nostr network more resilient clients should have a way of knowing and viewing how many different relays a message is hosted.

We need this because having for example a connection to 20 relays is in no way a guarantee that these relays are all relaying your messages. There are also no guarantees that all their messages from people you follow are indeed forwarded to you.

Some Bitcoin wallets, like Breez and Phoenix, contain a full Lightning client inside. These apps still need an external full ₿ node but the app manages its own channels.

Now, to make #nostr more resilient I would love to see clients that have a build in relay. It doesn't have to store and share a lot of stuff, but at least your own messages, as well as maybe a random or selective set of 5-25 of your contacts’ messages.

There is no filter to mute words or hashtags, yet, in any #Nostr client, is there?

Maybe a nice idea for future implementation 😅 #[1] #[2] #[3]

Also, what if I run my own relay and I want to block certain words or hashtags? Again, there are no options for this, yet 🤔.

I guess companies will demand to be called *only* by humans.

This is to prevent their call centres from being flooded by ever-patient AI concierges that want to cancel a service or renegotiate the rates or ask a question 🤔

Also, they themselves will employ more AI helpers to answer the incoming calls 😅

Imagine a safari in South Africa.

You’re on a Land Rover with a bunch of tourists from the UK, Germany and Japan.

There is a park ranger in the front seat next to the driver. The park ranger has a big shotgun in case things go south.

At one point the local wildlife turn up and is irritated at our presence.

The park ranger knows what to do to protect the local wild life and shoots all the tourists as the driver tries to back away form the big wild cats.

What is this an illustration off? 🤔

I asked chatGPT and got this suggestion:

sudo ifconfig en0 ether XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

Note: Replace "en0" with the name of your WiFi interface. You can find the name by typing "ifconfig" in the Terminal window and looking for the name next to "en" or "en0".

Replace "XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX" with the MAC address you want to use. You can generate a random MAC address or use a specific one.

Press Enter and type your password when prompted.

Verify that the new MAC address has been applied by typing "ifconfig" in the Terminal window and looking for the new MAC address under the "ether" field.

So if I read this correctly, a relay that supports NIP-95 stores messages that incorporate the images?

Instead of the situation now, where we refer to a url on a hosting service?

That is great news, it will probably drive the pay-per-post or pay-per-90-day-storage and similar relay option 😃

Or, as in your case, not storing or relaying then at all 🤔

Downside of buying vs renting:

*Interest payments

*Property taxes

*HOA fees

*Fixing things

*25% of equity immediately gone on paper (5% selling commission)

*Tying up investment $$

*Losing ability to easily move

Renting isn't the ripoff mom, dad, and your friends said

it was.

Venmo, the mobile payment platform owned by PayPal, is launching the ability for its customers to transfer bitcoin to other Venmo users, PayPal accounts and external wallets and exchanges, starting in May 2023. The company says the move is in response to increasing customer demand for digital asset management options.

According to the announcement, more than 50% of its cryptocurrency-using customers chose Venmo due to its safety, security and ease of use, while more than 74% of customers have continued to hold their cryptocurrency in their Venmo account over the past year.

Imagine a consultancy firm, that can only be paid with shares of the company that it consults.

Also, these shares can only be traded long-term 5 to 10 years-ish.

This way we ensure that they will give advice that is healthy to the long-term existence of said company
