Bitcoin - Art - Liberty

Humans are a blip in the History of Earth, today we see 100 years as meaningful but one generation is just dust in the wind. Bitcoin is 14 years old, finite in its volume and immortal, still embryonic. We do not comprehend its potential yet but we can only whisper its possible applications or "use cases". In our current level of technological understanding 99% will be wrong.

Bitcoiners of today will certainly do well in their lifetime, see the birth of beautiful innovations, probably reach a comfortable retirement, tell stories about being early but the protocol has already reached perfection in its core and such perfection is meant to erase the old, flush the corrupt, to give way to the new. It is bigger than us.

Bitcoin is not about you, it is about the rebirth of our civilization that will be rebuilt on values such as equality, progress, innovation, peace, prosperity, freedom, self-sovereignty, passion, respect and integrity. All of these values giving us our true purpose on Earth have all been corrupted today, we do not deserve Bitcoin full potential in our generation, but we deserve to pioneer it for our posterity, it is an imposed duty to humans who have understood it for the future generations.

This protocol, this technology, this money, this form of speech, this organism deserves no name that could give it justice, it is The Singularity between humans and technology that will bring about the true purpose of our presence on Earth which is to keep building not strive to survive but strive to create value that will persist for the next hundred thousand years.

This is why we must Disobey as this will outlive all future generations if we do not mess it up.

Great reflection Merrcurr. ☀️☀️☀️

Good article. While I agree overall, I disagree with the author on the subject of free will. Becoming obsessed with a creative process is in my experience not a lack of a free will but a deliberate wielding of inner creativity. There is flow and exploration. That flow has been built up over time, by reflections, experiences and inspiration. It is not something that happens to the artist, but rather a storm they have conjured and created over time, a storm they can direct and become one with.

Somewhat related to what Orwell describes here, I think Tolkien gives an interesting angle of approach on the subject of corruption.

Corruption as a loss of sovereignty. There is a deep form of corruption that occurs when we allow others to take control over us, when we outsource our mind, our agency and our life to a third party.

This becomes visible from the portrayal of Smeagol/Gollum. As he wore the ring, he was slowly corrupted and as he was corrupted he became an easier target for the controller of the ring.

An analogy here is that Smeagol's internal firewall was broken down, allowing outside interference to gain control over his mind.

The loss of sovereignty and free agency is a profound form of corruption. It is a corruption of our humanity, a corruption of our reasoning ability, our independence and our values. All of which are necessary to uphold our values and stay aligned to them.

I think your observation is very accurate. A lot of artists are not natural marketers or salespeople. Many artists, musicians and writers are introverts at heart, which is probably also why they have spent so much time with their creative obsession in the first place.

We are in a marathon and bitcoin LN brings more and more opportinity to artists and creatives every year. It's amazing what tools we already have.

Networking and audience reach will improve with Nostr over time. We live in exciting times.

Giving a like for me is similar to giving a nod in a conversation, it means I either agree or appreciate the input, even if I disagree.

Zaps are for when something really resonates with me or I want to reward the person for what they wrote. It is more costly in time for me since I have to restart my LN wallet, type in my pin-code and then send the zap. If I zap something then that means I was motivated to do all of that.😄

It would be valuable to have decentralized marketplaces where artists can meet customers who are looking for the services/products offered.

The obvious obstacle: why should customers look for decentralized marketplaces when they already have centralized hubs?

There are no simple answers here. If the decentralized marketplaces provide unique, quality products with better product browsing and filtering - more signal and less noise - then this would be a possible edge that could attract traffic.

Bitcoin brings sovereignty to creators, yet we need to convince the larger public to make purchases with bitcoin rather than fiat.

There are many centralized platforms that many types of artists are dependent upon, that I would like to see decentralized. For example the whole 3D product ecosystem.

Artists are dependent on exposure for reaching clients, as well as for hosting their art and/or products and services.

Bitcoin Lightning is a game changer in terms of sovereignty for artists. Still there is a need to decentralize the central hubs that artists are dependent upon.

This is not easy to do immediately. Artists need reach and centralized hubs naturally have better reach. User traffic and visibility impacts how well artists can earn income from products they have made. This can be anything from art prints, tutorials, 3D models, texture products, promo/advertising work to technical tools they have coded.

Those that control visibility also have power over those that need visibility for their services. If we have high quality decentralized hubs where art ecosystems can flourish and attract traffic, then this will greatly counteract the centralized hubs of today.

Freelance and commission work are beneficial for artists and generally the most accessible funding option. Government involvement will always come with political motives so that's a trap I would stay away from.

Personally I perform better when a client wants a particular result and is willing to pay a reasonable amount for the work. I see it as a matter of honor to give back the value in art that I receive in commission. The money isn't earned until the quality of the work matches the value of the commission, in an approximate estimation of course.

When I create art for myself I either have a project that the art must fit into, or if it's not project related then I explore new ideas. Repetition drags me down so I prefer to

Since historical masterpieces were funded over several years it is natural that the artist attempted to deliver an optimal result. The extended timeframe made it possible to plan and improve upon the work to reflect the value of the commission. Without the long-term funding those artists would have needed to focus on smaller projects to pay their living expenses.

Eric Adams was 67 at this concert but his voice haven't changed in the last few years. Raw, powerful and victorious.

Manowar Friday. Singer Eric Adams, born 1952, is still one of the best vocalists at age 70. 🔥🔥🔥

💯 And with our extensive record of how central planning works from observing decades of communism, there is nothing as deadly and dangerous to humanity as central planning.

Our survival a species depends on decentralization, self sovereignty, bodily autonomy, individual rights and the right to property.
