I’ve just lowered shipping cost for EU for Jades because of your post. I believe spreading a cheap device is critical for adoption. I lowered it €10.- even though there are countries that would make us lose a lot on the shipping.

Odd behavior with the bitcoin-core flatpak from flathub - I don't see any new updates or changes to the packaging github.

Version 27.1 currently installed. And yet, today I see that there is a <30 MB update available.. to 27.1 with no possibility to see what changed or what it contains.

Opinion from a Non-EU observer:

You know, people shit on the EU a lot due to a lot of their regulations sounding (and well, being) a bit dystopian. But if you look into it without preconceptions, the regulations make sense a lot of the time **as long as** EU institutions are democratically run and reflect the will of the people.

So the solution is simple, be more active in EU elections and EU institutions, make sure you're actively participating and don't just disregard them in favor of local elections. If more EU citizens actually understood the importance and took them as seriously as national elections, the system would work a lot better.

You can't opt out, you're simply silencing yourself.

IMO, the biggest mistake of all #Bitcoin/#Lightning wallet and app developers right now is not integrating the most naive version of a #Nostr based contact list.

Literally we have everything we need to easily select and send bitcoin to people, projects, clients, etc and establish very simple web of trust security. AND to have a #Nostr identity created within a wallet by default for those that don't have one, even in the absence of caring about social posts or notes or whatever.

As I learned very recently, npubs are literally taproot addresses, so legit every bitcoin wallet could generate a nostr ID for those that don't have one and if you punched in your nsec into the app, anyone could receive coins straight to their npub by the app merely auto-removing "npub..." and replacing it with "bc..."

This is SUPER low hanging fruit that completely shifts the user experience of bitcoin and I think extremely few people have realized just how big of an improvement this would be.

My advice: Stop thinking about #Nostr purely as a twitter replacement, think about it as a #Bitcoin account, username, & reputation system, it actually works and scales BETTER for that use than for general purpose social media.

The only weight loss thing that has ever worked for me is OMAD. In the past couple weeks I've been doing 10k daily walks with one meal a day (9oz steak) and I've already lost 8 lbs.

Turns out less calories in = less weight. shocking. you only have to deal with a slight feeling of hunger for 2-4 hours every day, but in the fiat food era this is unacceptable for most people.
