lol, care to elaborate?
This is an open question and it’s good to speculate about it. But ads, at least the way you’re thinking about them, is just a bad answer. Detracts from the conversation.
lmao, so clients would have to opt-in to ads by implementing some new events kind?
I don’t see why a client would ever do that.
No offense, but I’m starting to think you don’t have an answer to my first question. Relays can’t show ads because they can’t fake signatures.
- What do you mean by “if” every note is signed 🤔 it will be completely obvious
- OK but, obviously, that’s just an assumption in your end right?
This seems wrong on so many levels but here’s two questions to better understand it:
- Why wouldn’t a client just drop the ads?
- Why don’t we just convince people to pay like they do for newspapers/magazines?
My relays do not respect kind 5 events
I think #[7] made a microapp for this
Try topical magnesium chloride
The logic around which relays to talk to isn't exactly straightforward, but I put it into a library so other clients could use it and share their improvements with me: https://github.com/mikedilger/gossip-relay-picker
Awesome, I didn’t know that.
here for the ratio
I don’t think hatin on other people because you think they’re “toxic” is very nice either. I prefer to let people be how ever they want.
Bitcoin used to be used to buy drugs on the dark web, and those drug users were Bitcoiners. Then it was used by people that wanted to be “toxic” online without worrying that their bank balances would be seized, and those people are Bitcoiners too.
It’s up to each person to chose their path in the moral landscape (acting correctly just because other people want you to is not morality, just slavery). The only moral thing to do is to literally be yourself 🐝 🐸 . Bitcoin’s gift is to empower each of us to do just that. Whether we like being toxic, buying drugs, or whatever.
captcha relay would be cool
based?
