keep nostr weird

looked back over your notes to see you're using lnd embeded in zeus. probably can't help with that I'm afraid

The issue with slow payments is probably that your node is making lots of failed attempts. Since unlike in phoenix, you have to route the payments yourself, your node has to try an fail in order to learn good paths. lnd will remember the good and bad paths for next time though so hopefully that helps.

I think mutiny does it better since they provide a pruned view of the network for their users with their gossip sync. lnd does have a hacky version of a gossip sync that blixt and zeus use (it's called the speedloader irc) but it would probably not be trivial to do what mutiny does and add probing information to that.

maybe a mission control speedloader can be developed in the future nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 ?

I had this issue a while ago. I think I found a swap service with a low limit. Maybe boltz.exchange or fixedfloat.io ?

Do you publish your probing data anywhere? Would be great if micro tools like nostr:npub1ufdgkgz3qg4q37taye75hxwal3gq5zl7zjd97ec7gmmja84rdmyspmzcue could take advantage of it.

wow, very nice

It's a different thing. In advertising you pay the person that owns valuable content to put ypur message next to the valuable content to leach some attention for your message

In honest signaling (what deer do when they grow antlers) you provide a verifiable proof of wasted resources in order to demonstrate the value of something (in the case, of nostr, the value of a message). No one is paid, attention is not acquired by affinity but by the costly signal itself.

Different concepts require different words so that we can talk about each individually. Or are you to self absorved to even understand that?

this was the most recent effort to use the hashkash style proof of work in a messaging protocol.

it entirely depended on the PoW to not enable spam.

look at the date on it. hasn't been updated since 2016.

at least do the basic research before you waste your time on something that is a well trodden path.

I already told you my interest isn't in spam prevention it's in discovery

But you are too self-absorbed to listen

No worries

It scales fine. It's how Bitcoin prevents ddos from fake blocks

It does disfavor spammers, important messages are worth putting pow into, spam isn't

payments are not verifiable because sender and receiver could be colluding to fake volume

Burning bitcoin is verifiable but does not scale

Not for spam, for discovery:
