What existing apps could have a Nostr integration or plugin?
Stuff like https://obsidian.md/, https://fraidyc.at/ or https://github.com/AntennaPod/AntennaPod.

Existing Lightning Wallets should use nostr to manage (private) Contact Lists.

And offcourse Drupal 😜
Does Anytype have a plugin system? It looks like it's a very closed app.
It's early for Anytype, I'm using is besides Notion because it's still quite buggy and their UX / feature lists is not as good as Notion yet.
A plugin system is on their roadmap: https://github.com/orgs/anyproto/projects/1?pane=issue&itemId=29227670 for what it's worth
Every ActivityPub client 👀
Wordpress blogs. Still so many of them - replace crappy Disqus and similar crap
Maybe Notion? Notion based blog nostr comments
I've looked at this now. The simplest idea would be to do like Obsidian and allow people to write articles on Notion and publish them to Nostr, their "integration" stuff doesn't allow anything very useful, it's just a very limited HTTP API, there is no "push" model or any way to augment the Notion UI or call an integration from the inside.
Great question. I think about this a lot. Apps without zaps seem so antiquated. Like activists whinning about their Gofundme or Patreon being closed, and not offering a BTC address.
f-droid could have a review section based on the most liked/zapped posts about apps on there. Point to a note with the source url as the first line, parse the rest of the content and npub as the review.

readwise.io
Doesn't seem to have any way to integrate anything.
It's closed-source but I think if many users ask, they'll add the feature.
(they're very good at adding integrations, they do it quite frequently. So, as a paying customer, I'm planning to submit a request)
Couchsurfing
Uber
Do you understand their plugin system? Do you think it would be possible?
I never look at it before.
I see they have an API and all is build in JS, so it should be quite easy for our NDK army.
This would be siccckkk I 💜 Joplin
What do you think a Nostr plugin could do?
I've just installed this app, but I don't find a place to browse and install plugins on the UI.
Collaborative note editing, or even a simple option to publish Joplin notes to relays
This.
For collaborative I would start simple, sharing with read/write permission (and a proper locking mode). Real-time multi editing is complex and overrated, seeing the other cursor and live updates in read mode is enough, imho.
This, please. I already use Joplin to edit my longer Nostr notes before posting on mobile. Joplin being Nostr native would be amazing.
I used to use Joplin extensively when I was in school or worked as a consultant. I have gotten away from it lately in favor of Confluence at work, but would totally use it as a Nostr client.
The Joplin app itself has improved tremendously in the past ~5 years
Can you read stuff from Nostr from inside Joplin? Does that make sense?
Not currently, that I know of. But that type of feature totally makes sense.
Joplin is sort of like EverNote with a lot of additional features… so I see the main value add as leveraging the existing document editing functionality to compose Nostr notes.
Collaboration features would also be sick, but probably a lot more complicated.
Joplin also has good support for code blocks and LaTeX fwiw
Yes, I'm not asking if it exists, I'm asking if it would be possible to make such a plugin that spontaneously opens a websocket to relays and slurps in some notes.
Sorry, I don’t know enough about how Joplin is built to answer.
My guess is this would be non-trivial, as there currently are no social media or collaboration features.
Their dev community is active and responsive - I have opened issues and requested features in the past.
Maybe a sort of read-later, you react with specific emoji and the note, *with all the assets*, is backuped up in Joplin.
For me this would be extremely useful.
Oh, but then you are talking about a running service that runs in someone's cloud and injects stuff into your Joplin? I thought it was a local desktop note-taking app.
A service is an option (it supports sync), but we don't need it. The plugin could just REQ all my reactions, filter them and do the fetch/backup.
Or with the same logic, the possibility to append/prepend a note to a single Joplin note.
Currently I have a (not nostr related) script to do this for some logging purpose:
sqlite3 /..../joplin-desktop/database.sqlite <
Are you on mobile? Plugins unlucky are not supported yet.
https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/plan-for-plugins-in-mobile/20276
No, desktop. I am probably just bad at finding things.
Tools > Options
Or you can install them manually
I made a POC plugin for Logseq https://github.com/KoalaSat/logseq-nostr-sync
I love LogSeq, not sure about sending messages, but could Nostr be used as a syncing tool between devices ?
S'il y a des curieux pour LogSeq, j'ai ecris un petit qqch a ce sujet
Yes, that was my original intention, I created this as POC and want to work on it afterwards 🙂
That app looks brilliant…. Thanks for link…. I’m going to check it out
I'm working on a Neovim plugin here: https://github.com/ChristianChiarulli/nostr.nvim it should be useful for decoding events and developing but also for posting blogs and notes directly from the editor.
i would love to see a plugin in https://github.com/zadam/trilium
Wordpress is an obvious choice. Can be achieved with plugins. Supports already Activitypub.
Already has the media hosting plugin by nostr:npub1n0sturny6w9zn2wwexju3m6asu7zh7jnv2jt2kx6tlmfhs7thq0qnflahe.
Tumblr being winded down by Automattic might give an opening for people looking for alts.
Substack parallel posting / exporting could allow new people to test nostr.
https://developers.notion.com/ is popular.
What about OpenOffice / Google Docs etc?
Zapier & IFTTT integrations would open a new range of reach.
Every social media client (e.g. Graysky, IceCubes, Mona) is an opportunity to cross-post to nostr if the integration is easy.
Keybase maybe? Pretty sure the code is still open. Not sure tho. Been wondering if a nostr version was possible.

Canva has a $50m fund to support building apps
https://www.canva.com/newsroom/news/canva-developers-platform/
Still used by many and using its messenger UI to post and could also use to fetch feeds & for notifications
Lbry.
If Nostr clients could play videos directly from the lbry network that would be cool. Creators could be payed directly in zaps
Antenna pod with nostr comments on podcasts would be sick
