I don’t spend a lot of time in the libertarian meme of picking your exact genre but I’m pretty sure at this point I’m not an ancap.

Don’t get me wrong I have friends who are, and I love everything about the ideology, but it’s hard for me to get behind the real end goal, which appears to me to be burning it all down and replacing it with ~not much~

I rarely pick the “mid” option but I think I’m much more of a minarchist. Or rather I’d love to see ancap work, but I’m not going to let that prevent me from trying to influence our institutions today.

What I see right now is a huge push of the Overton window towards liberty. Doge could very well be the minarchist dream and it seems to be driven by the same sort of thought.

To have many libertarians say “that’s not good enough” and “I’m not aligned with any politician,” …while I understand the sentiment, I think it’s a bit of a shame.

The bitcoin community could stand to get a lot out of the current US administration. I’ve seen x posts about going back to the gold standard, negativity around debanking. Questioning regulatory overreach.

I’m going to do my damndest to try to push these conversations, and at this point I have no shame in working within the current political system.

I half think ancap is a psyop to get libertarians locked in a “I’m more anti state thou” loop instead of actually doing something. It’s performative, and to let it get in the way of changing something at such a prime time would be a mistake.

I'm sorry, life must be difficult

If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to reach out. All bitcoiners, even the retarded ones, are my brothers.

🤔

I agree.

Unfortunately, Bitcoin does not confront the problem of unfairly acquired wealth. Bad apples can buy as much Bitcoin as they want and it would be very hard to reclaim it.

There is a small twitter account I have a ton of respect for who has been advocating for somethint he calls "militia money". It's his attempt to confront this problem.

I don't see how this could be true. If it's fine for human intelligence why wouldn't artificial intelligence also br able to do the same things (e.g. make accounts with a balance instead of doing everything as micro transactions)

Usually red pills are all downside, it's good to know the truth but it is also isolating when most people are rabidly hostile to it.

Bitcoin and Ray Peat's work are two exceptions to this rule since they both offer an incredible personal upside even if those around are hostile to them.
