Luke has been known to say some pretty controversial and inflammatory things. While I agree everyone who hodls Bitcoin should run their own node, Luke also mishandled his private keys and claims to have been robbed of 200 bitcoin, so his opinion may be colored by his history.

I don't understand this reasoning. Why would ordinals lead to Bitcoin death?
I mean, somebody could do that anyway, just by saying they are so-and-so.
You own your identity through cryptography, there is no central ID authority.
You can connect and move between public and nonpublic networks by talking to different relays.
You could conceivably have a private company relay, a private family relay, and use the same ID to connect to them as you do to connect to the world.
