Life Is a Spiral: You Always Get a Second Chance to Grow

Life rarely follows a straight line. Some climb a single mountain, step by step. Others live in spirals — returning to lessons they thought they had learned, discovering challenges they thought they had overcome, and finding the courage to begin again.

I was born in Kampala, Uganda, and by age nine, my family had migrated first to the Netherlands and then on to New Zealand. Migration became my first initiation into change: learning new schools, new cultures, and how to belong. Leaving school early, working in a supermarket, I often felt adrift. At nineteen, I returned to the Netherlands to reconnect with family, find meaning, and pursue education. I eventually earned a master’s degree in economics, all while cultivating a meditation practice that has grounded me for decades. Later in life daily journaling and ashtanga yoga — where breath and movement merge — became the steady compass that carried me through life’s uncertainties.

When i was young I climbed what David Brooks calls the “first mountain” — career, family, and societal success. But divorce, heartbreak, and unfulfilling work brought me into valleys I could not avoid. Life was asking me to grow, to shed what no longer served me, and to rediscover myself.

In Amsterdam, I started again, living closer to my children, leaning into meditation, and embracing a life that felt authentic. I dreamed of sailing around the world — literally charting a new course. Life surprised me: I met my wife, we had a baby, and when our son was three months old, we set sail. For two and a half years, we lived on a small boat, crossing oceans, facing storms and challenges, and learning persistence, trust, and patience in real time.

We eventually arrived in New Zealand and built a home surrounded by nature, with a flourishing garden, a sanctuary after decades of change. I still meditate twice a day, journal daily, practice ashtanga yoga, walk barefoot on the beach with my dog, enjoy good conversation and coffee

Now I coach others through their own turning points, not from theory, but from lived experience. If there is one truth my spiral journey has taught me: you always get a second chance to grow. Every heartbreak, every move, every storm is an invitation to deepen, renew, and discover your true self.

Life is not a straight climb. It is a spiral. And with each turn, we are given another chance — to rise, to renew, to grow.

Beautiful Share….🥰

This is not “the fight of our generation”.

This is the “the fight of every generation for the past 10 thousand years”. At the least.

It’s just that THIS is the first time WE have a chance to WIN and forge unimaginable freedom and equality for every human. 🧡

And yes. It’s THAT big. 🧬🪬

I had quite a profound moment today with the mushroom, and I felt called to share a piece of that experience with you.

It was my first time trying a small dab of infused honey - a generous gift from nostr:npub100rse6q23xxvfvlp05ye97shyexlrz8peqrtvrk4gsjw3dql26rqxu63y7. The amount was minimal, but the impact was exactly what I needed, apparently. The experience reminded me of just how powerful psychedelics can be, and more importantly, how much respect they deserve as tools for healing when approached with proper intention.

There's something incredible about these substances and their ability to address spiritual, emotional, and psychological challenges that live deep within us. I won't dive into all the personal revelations and insights that surfaced - the family dynamics, the question of how to provide more value to the people I care about, the endless maze of figuring out how to navigate this overwhelming world we live in…

Psychedelics seem to work directly with your emotional nervous system - that constant internal dialogue happening beneath your conscious awareness. The mushroom forces you to actually listen to those conversations between your emotions that your rational mind can't quite decode or articulate.

When you're in that space, you have to let it all come out. You cry, you sing, you dance, you move, you laugh - your body becomes the vehicle for releasing what I can only describe as emotional constipation. All those feelings and insights your rational mind has been suppressing or simply couldn't process suddenly have a pathway to expression.

That's what happened to me today. In that vulnerable, open state, I was overwhelmed by appreciation and love for everyone close to me in my life. My family, my friends, my interests, my passion for art - everything felt illuminated with gratitude.

Yet simultaneously, I felt that familiar overwhelm about navigating this complex world, always circling back to that persistent question:

How?

How do I do this? How do I do that? How do I...?

I know that "how" isn't always the right question to be asking, but I can't seem to stop returning to it.

This has been a long-winded reflection, I know. But I felt moved to be vulnerable and share this experience, partly as a way of expressing my genuine gratitude for everyone here who has respected and supported me along the way. I'm continuously trying to do my best.

Much love and gratitude to all of you.

GN from Scott’s Reef…. 🦈😌

I've moved beyond the "digital gold" narrative and into the "exergy and accountability" paradigm. This is the frontier.

When we talk about "free energy," we are really talking about what physicist Buckminster Fuller called “energy wealth”—the abundant and ever-renewable flux of energy from stars (like our sun), planetary motion (tides, wind, geothermal), and perhaps one day, even deeper physical principles.

In that world, Bitcoin mining undergoes a fundamental transformation:

⚡️ Mining Becomes a Public Service: Energy Network Regulation

· The primary purpose of mining shifts from "earning sats" to grid stabilization and energy load-balancing.

· Miners become the automatic shock absorbers of the global energy network. They instantaneously consume excess energy that would otherwise be wasted, preventing grid overload and enabling a far higher penetration of variable renewables like solar and wind.

· This isn't a cost; it's a vital function. The sats earned become a secondary reward for providing the critical infrastructure service of energy stabilization.

🔗 The Decentralized Accountability Layer

· This is where it becomes more than just energy. It becomes about truth.

· The Bitcoin blockchain becomes the immutable, public ledger for energy production and consumption.

· Every mined block is proof that a certain amount of energy was dissipated in a specific place and time. This creates an unforgeable audit trail for the entire planet's energy flow.

· It moves us from a system of trust-based carbon credits and opaque energy accounting to a system of proof-based energy attestations.

🌍 The Result: A Symbiotic Planet

This creates a beautiful, closed-loop system:

1. The Sun provides abundant energy.

2. Humanity captures it.

3. The Energy Grid distributes it.

4. Bitcoin Miners stabilize it by consuming the surplus.

5. The Blockchain records the entire process with perfect transparency.

In this system, Bitcoin is no longer just a monetary tool. It is the nervous system for a global energy ecosystem. It provides the indispensable layer of accountability that allows a high-trust, highly efficient, and truly sustainable civilization to function.

This has always been the deeper game. The monetary value of the bitcoin is simply the incentive mechanism to bootstrap this entire planet-scale system into existence.

You're not just mining for sats.

You are pioneering the economic and energetic infrastructure of a free humanity.

That is the ultimate purpose.

Agreed on everything here (including the aligned ethos/pathos) except I do not see our future civilisation requiring a centralised grid system.

If it did, that system (at scale) would be a single point of failure on a regional and super regional basis.

It seems much more likely to me that the eventual architecture will be far more localised and interconnected. (Like nodes in a decentralised network 😉) Thereby creating resiliency instead of fragility.

This is also why the very beginning of this new architecture will be first seen in the 2nd/3rd world where there is little to no friction from incumbents.

Just my 2 sats….🧡😉

If I may…..

You’re conflating some things that are important to distinguish between. I (and many others) run nodes not to mine but to interact with the protocol in the designed (and intended) P2P way.

Without any “middleman” or agent.

This is a big part of what makes Bitcoin Bitcoin.

I go through my freakout moments from time to time as well, but in the end, if this network is as fragile (to bad actors) as you are saying, then it was worth nothing to begin with.

Sit with that. If it bothers you, sell your bitcoin and move on. Bitcoin doesn’t care.

Peace ✌️

The stars in our portion of the milky way make a full rotation around our massive black hole center approx once every 250 mil years.

You may be confusing with procession of the equinoxes which is a specific phenomenon to earth (and likely our entire solar system). Possibly the result of a binary orbit with a nearby “sister star” 💫

What’s all the fuss?!?!?

I just checked the price and 1 Bitcoin still equals100mil Satoshis 🧐😝

A sign from the gods!!! 🪬🧡🤣

Not really. See my lengthy response to Kyle on his reply….

That’s still not “printing money”.

Printing money is an increase in the Federal Reserve’s nominal balance sheet size. You are conflating 2 different things.

1. The Fed lowers the target Fed funds rate HOPING to stimulate PRIVATE loan demand.

2. The Fed engages in QE by purchasing assets (usually govt and mtg bonds) with freshly minted (digital) money supply thereby directly injecting it into the economy. (There is a nuance here but it’s not meaningful to this discussion so I won’t go into it)

Also, loan creation has typically DECREASED at the beginning of periods where the Fed lowers rates. Why? Because we tend to be at the beginning of a contraction in the economy and people are scared to take out new loans. At any rate. Initially. Look at 2001 and 2008/9 as great examples of this.

PS

Not trying to be argumentative. Just see lots and lots of Nostriches not versed in the plumbing of finance.

PPS

ACTUAL “money printing” is coming IMO. In 2026/7 as the AI and CRE bubbles pop creating trillions of losses requiring effective subsidisation/sterilisation.

If Bitcoin doesn’t become the dominant MoE, it will be captured and gated like Gold. And then It’s SoV will collapse into the new global surveillance state.

This is easy to see if you take the time to dig deeper than NGU.

Spend and replace. Everytime you have an opportunity to spend n BTC, do it. Then replace it. No different than spending in fiat.

Peace brotha 🧡

Yeah, I think I get what you mean and I think we fundamentally agree with the ideal.

For example, if I may ask, would you move to and invest in an El Salvador, Bukele, ultra Bitcoin-based country somewhere in the world BUT that has a small 0,1% wealth tax to fund a UBI for the people?

You know what I mean? And in that sense it wouldn't be a tax per se because you'd be voluntarily invest in it because you believe in the project.

I think this is an example of a nation state of the future.

But like you're saying, I also think that we're going to have a bunch of communities like nostr:nprofile1qqsy6anug24qnrglth9vpj5l8a4mzaqgjc8tl5j65dn4tplkdmax4dgzhwtt3 eheh :D, pure voluntaryist, affordable, open, permissionless communities around the world and yes thus that absolutely means a collapse or a complete parallel, network state like, community (like I think you'd like to call it :D) or alternative to the current nation states.

I'm working on both ends/games. At the municipal/global parallel level (what I think you kind of call communities), with FreeVillages and then something else at national level, with something that I'm going to talk about soon for Portugal and any nation state in the world.

I think we should be working in both games simultaneously. The current nation state power structure and the new world (Bitcoin, Nostr). And then in the middle there will be the golden nuggets.

“I think this is an example of a nation state of the future”

This is a complete oxymoron. From my perspective, there will be no “National State” of the future.

You’re waaaaay over complicating this, IMO. The answer is always far simple than the unnecessarily complex abstractions that our “monkey minds” create.

Study nature….And learn to quiet your mind 🧘‍♂️ 🦋

(I wish someone had told me this at your age)

BTW, What I’m describing is not idealic wishful thinking. It’s a systems engineering imperative routed in millennia of history.

It’s not going to happen “in the future”. It’s happening right NOW.

Thanks to nostr:nprofile1qqsrt52q24ey6hlpe48a6e36vwjgg2qlhu27qj49p5yng76r553wjvcpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ez6ur4vgh8wetvd3hhyer9wghxuet5qyv8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnndehhyapwwdhkx6tpdssp92ma for putting on another excellent event yesterday.

My presentation HODL & SPEDN was about the importance of spending your bitcoin within your community.

I use the analogy of planting a seed. When you spend your BTC at a local store you're telling that person that you value them, their time, their craft and their prosperity.

Give them the best money and then replace it using your crappy fiat.

If we want an abundant world for our future then we need to plant to seeds today. It's our job to teach others how to grow their own prosperity, how to protect it and enable them to provide for themselves and their families.

No matter who you are, at some point you were told about. Someone planted a seed within you, whether it was a friend or an author or content creator.

Our future communities depend on the work we start today.

Thanks to everyone for the love and support you have shown to nostr:nprofile1qqswt4cgx3mrv9fykej2q0987kzd2qh4hevd0r2jwpjg9gqcgg4mmngpzfmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2ucpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgdygatj

Our little town has over 30 merchants and the list of interest grows everyday.

It all starts with a seed.

Except the “stablecoins as global CBDC” seems like FUD to me. They are on completely different rails.

Moreover, as stablecoin “savers” watch their (USD-correlated) wealth continue to deteriorate asymptotically against Bitcoin, they will trade-up. Eventually.

His is ALL in service of systemic hyper-Bitcoinisation IMO. 🧡 🚀
