Tomorrow 2pm UTC, nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc, and I will be doing a nostr nest talking about NDK, building software on nostr and answering questions.
Why? Because having more people develop useful/playful things for nostr is part of how freedom wins, and how we explore what nostr is.
And because why not? 😂

Is NDK for building clients, relays, or both?
Dope Bitcoin meetup and got to hear from #[2] Thanks, #[3] #[4] and everyone else who I met there! Learned a lot!

Coincidentally, I’m not able to zap your note at the moment.
Makes sense to move it from settings into the tab itself. Good feedback.
Sorry, it’s an open feature request that hasn’t been implemented. Same with muted threads.
Also that means they can pull off these kinds of shenanigans with absolute authority: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/28/apple-under-fire-for-labelling-crimea-as-part-of-russia-in-its-apps No, Crimea is not part of Russia.

It bothers me that Google and Apple don’t contribute to and use OpenStreetMap data. Another example of where open protocols are better than platforms for the overall good of humanity, but they chose to build in a closed way so I’m locked in because their data accuracy is arguably the best.
There's a mini-conf or something in HK after the Japan conf, right? I thought I'd heard something to that effect... If so, I'll definitely try to make that too.

We can make the global Nostr experience better in Damus.
1. Improve language detection. There’s a lot of incorrect predictions on source language. Add the ability to choose from a list of languages to change the source translation language if it seems to have translated from the wrong language.
2. Fix bug with Unicode hashtags not being able to be parsed. For example, Japanese and Chinese hashtags don’t get picked up.
3. Add offline translation support for privacy-sensitive folks or those who don’t want to pay for translation services. Consider turning it on by default for new users.
4. There’s already a setting to show notes in only your preferred languages in the Universe feed but that actually limits global conversation. Perhaps we could add a setting to show notes in only your non-preferred languages to really broaden the global conversation if someone wants to opt into that experience.
5. Somehow encourage folks to follow users who don’t write in their preferred languages.
Damus has already been translated to Arabic thanks to #[6] but contributions are open to everyone, so thanks for offering to help!
We’re higher tech than Google Sheets. We use a proper translation management system called Transifex. Just DM me and I can provide more details.
Early mornings were not for me. But it was fun! I played clarinet.
Primal vanity URL! https://primal.net/tyiu This UI feels really nice and fast, even if it's just read-only at the moment!
I really wanted “Taxation is a necessary evil” but ended up with “Who would build the roads?”
