Network effects have an impact. I think SimpleX was mentioned as much as Session for a while on Nostr, but the former surpassed the latter once Jack gave it attention today.

A full day with #[0]. Solid overall. TestFlight is not recommended. There are some scaling issues today. And not the most intuitive onboarding for everyone. Name still reminds everyone of herpes.

All fixable. It’s fast and doesn’t require a phone number or email and I do believe people will eventually see the value of that.

Finally some competition for Signal, and in a permissionless way. And def a solid path so apps don’t have to build their own DM experiences.

We’ve been using Session ( https://getsession.org ) for the Damus translation team and it seems to work pretty well. It’s a fork of Signal and doesn’t require phone number or email either.

Obviously not good, but it's a bit rich for the official mouthpiece of regime holding Julian Assange prisoner to be talking about this.

The baseline comparison for any human rights issues is the US, which off the top of my head recently jailed a political dissident for a decade over a meme.

When the world leaders in freedom and democracy do this kind of thing, the standards drop globally.

There's also obviously a whole lot more to this particular story: "Bui Tuan Lam has been a political activist for nearly 10 years".

Had a fantastic conference on the Damus Booth (must remember to call it that and not “stall”!). Met so many amazing and passionate people who have a joint vision of the future. Maybe my perspective was skewed by all the cool gang who head to our booth?! :-)
