Yeah, I made it download everything initially, but according to Will, it could get up to 50 MB (or more, depending on the size of your follow list and social graph). That would be bad for users with limited internet plans. If you tap the followers label, it’ll give you a more accurate list and number.
Oh, man. Managed to reduce runtime performance cost on user search in Damus on my local branch by up to 92% by implementing a Trie. Tested empirically on my iOS simulator using nostr:npub1aeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qcq4nwx ‘s profile with ~2,000 follows. From ~650 milliseconds to ~50 milliseconds (per character typed!). Can’t wait to push out this pull request. This change should make Damus much more performant when @ mention user searching while composing a note with a large follow list.
I was impressed that the GrapheneOS installation was all handled by the browser. Really well done. I wasn’t impressed with the default black-and-white theme.
It’s Pikachu!
A web of trust feature is one that helps you make informed decisions about how to interact with people who are not in your direct social graph (i.e., people you follow) by using the social graph of those you do follow instead. Implicitly, you have some degree of trust in the people you follow, so you can use that web of trust as a proxy to figure out if you can trust them as well.
Features could include showing who of those you follow
- are following the person whose profile you’re viewing.
- muted a user
- reported a user
- reported a note or event
Opened six Damus PRs today. 😅 Good night!

I won’t mention the first fork that got downvoted to oblivion.
Enjoy your conspiracy theories. Muted. Bye.
If I would truly care? Please. My wife and I personally found safe passage for several dozen Ukrainians to escape the war, find shelter, and apply for visas in other countries. I’m sad that we even had to do that. I’m not just typing on a keyboard here.
I’m sure you care about people not dying, not disputing that. All I know is whoever is pushing wars needs to stop so that people stop dying. I truly care to not jump through mental gymnastics and play 5D chess to figure out where to “truly” point fingers at. Russian troops invaded Ukraine and killed and keep killing innocent civilians, full stop.
Anyway, we’re way past the deep end. I can’t entertain this conversation anymore.
I don’t know or care what you’re spouting. I just want them to leave my wife’s country alone so that people can stop dying and start living. Thanks.
Wonderful. Please implode for the sake of humanity.
This is a bad take. There’s more reasons than just programming languages to not build a web app. And he’s more than capable.
