Absolutely loved Dune: Part Two. It’s a masterpiece, and I can’t wait to see it again in theaters.
I’m hanging out wirh nostr:npub1yaul8k059377u9lsu67de7y637w4jtgeuwcmh5n7788l6xnlnrgs3tvjmf and nostr:npub108pv4cg5ag52nq082kd5leu9ffrn2gdg6g4xdwatn73y36uzplmq9uyev6 at the Princeton decentralized social media protocols workshop.

Looks like fun! Hope you’re all enjoying it!
Caught this one on my walk the other day. Cardinal (female)

Agreed that usernames and passwords are not the solution. I’m so tired of creating new accounts, dealing with username/password storage, trying to remember which “Sign in with…” I used, the whole thing. Let’s move past usernames and passwords as soon as possible.
I do wonder how many systems fail to account for the leap year. Probably not many, but maybe a few?
Rewatching Dune has gotten me super excited for Part Two. Can’t wait!
Love it! Such a cool bird, and a great shot!
This is awesome! Love it!
A week after returning my Apple Vision Pro, I hardly miss it. The headaches weren’t worth it, but I also can’t think of anything I’d like to be doing with it.
I WANT to like the Vision Pro... but it's not ready.... That said, probably the only way to get it ready is to get it out there to a larger audience. But if early adopters like nostr:npub1yl8jc6znttslcpj3p6p8vuq98awu6w0xh4lqtu0lkjr772kpx4ysfqvz34 who are iOS devs and even have an app in the Apple Vision appstore are returning theirs... it's not a great sign. At least Apple has very deep pockets to keep this running for years at a loss.

Apple needs to make it all the things I keep hearing people saying: lighter weight, higher resolution, full color (100% P3), maybe faster refresh for the passthrough video. Maybe that would help me and others.
Ugh, sorry to hear that. I recently dealt with some app rejections and it’s really frustrating.
From the motion and graphics on the screen, or from the actual physical device clamping on the head?
I don’t actually know. I tried so many variations — both straps, tight, loose, with and without my prescription lenses, Mac Virtual Display, native visionOS apps, movies, games. No matter what, I had a headache after using it for even just 10 minutes. I suppose it could be eye related, or maybe from tightening it too much on my head. Either way, I’ll have to wait for version 2 to try again. Sadly, I think it’ll be at least a year but we’ll see.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who had to return Vision Pro due to headaches… 😕

I will never get over how messy the power lines are in Thailand. So much cleaner here in the US, and mostly buried underground. I haven’t traveled much — do other countries have tidy or messy power lines?
I’ve been building an experimental nostr relay with the goal of improving bandwidth efficiency and performance of nostr clients.
the idea is simple: instead of connecting the phone to a dozen relays and deduplicating events locally, push that logic into a “proxy relay” in the cloud.
- duplicate events are never sent to the client, improving both bandwidth usage and performance
- the proxy maintains a local database of events to further speed up queries
- your client IP address is only visible to your proxy, not the upstream relays
- you can define separate upstream read and write relays
- nip-42 + allowlist auth to optionally restrict access
if you look at my set of relays you’ll see I’m only connected to one - that’s my private relay proxy. I’ve been using this setup with damus for the better part of a week and so far so good.
the code is free and open source at https://github.com/bndw/nostr-relay-proxy
This sounds awesome. It seems like this could solve so many problems (most of which you listed in your post). Have you seen any issues with it in your week of usage?
