Bitcoiner.

Looked at my mempool this morning (default size), and thought about #[0] and his bold claim it will never clear again. Getting nervous?

I use Damus. If that’s what you’re using, change the default zap amount in settings.

I’m not a social media lover. I lurked on twitter for 12 years before sending my first tweet. But I can’t help but dive into nostr. Something about the vibe here, the drive to make something better.

Is there anything out there that helps a merchant create a btc rewards/loyalty program for their customers?

I’ve started something using lnbits and the user manager extension as a backend, but I’d rather just find something that works now. 😂

I retweeted this from #[2] from the times before nostr. He had it in quotes, so not sure who said it first.

"I'm willing to lose everything. [...] I'm willing to watch it all go to zero just for the chance to change the system. How are you gonna beat me if I'm that intolerant? You can't. And there's thousands of me."

Agreed. Personally, it took me awhile to price things in sats in my head. But once I got it, it was pretty easy. Much better than pricing something as 0.0000xxx BTC.

This “inefficient wallet” statement probably is intended to describe fee estimation. These days, wallets do a pretty good job of estimating the fee required to enter the next block, or at least communicate trade offs in fee selection.

Just a few years back, a lot of wallets were terrible at estimating fees. This often lead to users overpaying for their transaction.

Weird. Works fine for me with Damus. You sure you’re in the TestFlight version? I don’t see a zap symbol on your posts here.

Testing my new personal relay. Let’s find out if it works!

I was in a meeting today fantasizing about using nostr in our products for a private chat function. We’ve never touched this in the past, but p2p (and private relays) gets around our data privacy concerns, as we don’t want anything to do with this kind of user data. Am I crazy?

I’ve done it. Works by connecting to my Umbrel at home. Not using that Umbrel for bitcoin things, just playing with the various self hosted software.

I access the umbrel via tailscale from the phone. Self hosted Robosats gives a little privacy bump too! Works fine in safari.

Hello again world. Next time, treat your nostr keys with just a fraction of the care with which you treat your btc keys.
