I recently had a short email conversation with an zakat organization in Germany. I asked them if they accept Bitcoin because I can't sell it beforehand and pay in fiat. Selling it would trigger a taxable event, the consequences of which I’d only see in my tax return next year, etc.
And their response? They told me to estimate the tax portion beforehand, deduct it, and then pay the rest. And I was like: What??
I wrote to them again, but no response since then.
Honestly, man, they all need to start accepting Sats—yesterday. Otherwise, this isn’t going anywhere.
Agreed, it's a problem. I have to do all the calculations of every buy on a spreadsheet. It's tedious to build, especially that there is no hijri calendar direct integration with GSheets. But once I had it set it up, I only need to update it once a month, and whenever I buy.
Still, I pay Zakat directly from my fiat reserves.

Nah, Islam doesn't need Europe to survive, and it doesn't want anything from anyone. And it surely doesn't want to harm anyone. On the contrary, Europe might end up needing Muslims to survive.
A religion is just a religion, and people are just people. One is an idea and will survive, and the other have survival instincts that they need to follow.

Honestly, it is a Western perspective because only the West and their lackies accept them as facts. There is a totally different version of what happened and why it's happening elsewhere in the world. That's precisely why you got this reaction from me, and will probably continue to get this reaction from this who dont adhere to Western version of the story.
I picked this video not because it's comprehensive, but more because Ilan Pappe is an Israeli history professor and he is telling facts that he researched in Israeli archives. It only tells part of the story, but reality is the struggle started much earlier than 1948. Enjoy:

FYI, nothing you said above is something I never heard before. I heard it all before, and I reject it all. Maybe there are kernels of truths here and there, but it's absolutely myopic it doesn't show anything but one perspective; the Western perspective. It has nothing to do with ours. So, if your truthful to your claim that you have no horse in this race, expose yourself other people's perspectives.
My impression is that an average Joe Westerner is completely blind to the situation anywhere outside their own area. In concentric circles, the further they are from "home" the less they know about things. This probably applies to many many cultures around the world.
Here is the difference: it's how they feel the gap. MSM is one source, and a hell lot of kool-aid, that's one way. Some call themselves things like rebels and anti-establishmentarians, yet their stubbornness to change the establishment's views is only matched by size of their blind spots.
Most hide behind the guise of "neutrality", "logic", and "science", but they don't see their biases and parrot whatever they hear.
The more I get to know them, the less I understand them. It's wierd. I can't say this about other cultures. And it runs against common sense behind reaching out to people.
People I met from other cultures admit their biases, admit the incompleteness of logic, and submit to the lack of understanding. And by-default they carry an (un)healthy amount of skepticism to whatever media say.
