People do seem to be more receptive to Bitcoin at the moment.

I just bought a second hand item for $390 but only had $350 on me.

I asked whether they were happy with $350 or I should go into town & get some money from the ATM?

I added at the end, "or I could pay you the $40 in Bitcoin?".

The guy's eyes lit up. He agreed because he wanted to have a play with it. I spent the next 30 mins answering questions & chatting. He was Bitcoin aligned, he just hadn't taken the leap yet. He knew a lot more about it than I expected. He knew what a Satoshi was & how many in Bitcoin.

I have never been to Tokyo (or Japan) but all I’ve heard is praise for Tokyo by those who have visited. Looking into the city’s history was interesting.

Post-WWII Japan was too broken to plan the urban rebuild of Tokyo. Instead this was all left up to the residents and businesses of Tokyo with no central planning, oversight or government red tape.

The result is endless small alleys, urban gardens and interesting layouts. By so many this city is regarded as one of the most beautiful and unique in the world.

There are many hidden examples of emergent outcomes bettering central planning out there. Just have to dig.

If you have been in Bitcoin for a cycle or more before today, you have experienced a once in a lifetime event.

You built the conviction to hold an asset which the entire world told you was destined for nothing. Literally everyone said you were wrong, at scale.

That character building dynamic, is no longer the case. Wall Street, government policy, and even the media is at minimum less negative, but mostly now positive.

Building conviction in Bitcoin now is easy, folks just pass off responsibility to their money manager.

If you stood the hardcore test of building, forming, challenging, and reshaping your conviction over years, amidst the most hostile social environment against Bitcoin we will probably ever see, well done.

Yes the asset is awesome.

But the lessons you learned, and the trust you now have in your own decisions and ability to reason, cannot be replicated.

You lived a once in a lifetime experience.

Put it to work in your life, and make it better.

The fundamental struggle for each of us is that between Ego and your Self.

Ego puts pride and intensity ahead of humility and intimacy. It's happiness is fleeting and often destructive. You need more and more of it, like a drug. It is high time preference. It shrinks your world.

The Self is humble. It is low time preference. It is calm, and lasting. You need less and less of it, over time, to achieve happiness. It expands your world.

The spiritual journey is the search for your Self. Awakening is when you find it.

And, if you replace "Ego" and "Self" above with "Fiat" and ""#Bitcoin" -- it helps describe the rabbit hole down which the "plebs," "freaks," and HODLERs are descending. It is a spiritual journey, bigger than oursleves. The result is serenity and peace.

I’ve noticed that the most selfish, undisciplined and worst-behaved people in my life are the ones who other people openly express how “sorry” they feel for.

People who refuse to do the hard things and live in a temple of denial and self-indulgence don’t deserve sorrow. They refuse to make the hard choice. They refuse to better their own life. They always take the easy way out. I have little else but contempt for these types.

The people who deserve attention, praise and support are the ones who are doing the opposite. The ones who do the hard work, who have discipline and conviction - day in and day out.

It’s a rule of mine to gas up anyone in my life who is doing the right things. If you’re out there doing the right things daily and getting no feedback - just know I am proud of you and respect your drive. Keep at it. You’re going places.

I do this mind trick on myself as often as I can where I imagine I’m an old man on my death bed and I have been given one day where I can go back in time and inhabit my young healthy body and play with my kids when they are small.

Try it.

If you can actually get yourself in the mindset of believing it’s real you will feel a gratitude so immense that it’s nearly psychedelic.

Impossible to describe.

Life is electric bro.

It’s an absolute gift.

Just hearing my daughter doing her homework in the other room is heaven.

Time is scarce.

Spend it wisely.

Your family doesn’t know the challenges and pressure you face daily in your life or work.

Your job doesn’t understand the circumstances of your life or home.

Your colleagues, friends, and loved ones won’t fully grasp the weight of the old and new responsibilities resting on your shoulders.

For those not on Twitter anymore, a little update on Real Bedford.

Today was the most nuts game, we were losing 5-3 and had a player sent off. This is normally certain defeat, yet some how we managed to pull two goals back and get a draw.

Meanwhile, our rivals for the league were winning 1-0 and conceded a goal at the death. From looking like they would gain three points on us, we remained on level points. So we are four points clear.

If we win the league again, we will be only the third side in the history of English football to win three leagues in a row, nobody has done four.

Tomorrow our women play Norwich. The women are also top of the league, if they win it that will be back to back promotions.

Football is nuts, it throws the most crazy scenarios at you…but here in Bedford something special is happening.
