The biggest and most wicked conspiracy theory in history is the denial of the Incarnation.
If you’re looking for more practical aspects of the faith, I suggest exploring “Catholic Social Teaching” and diving into Rerum Novarum. Much of it is postliberal/integralist/distributist thought. New Polity fleshes this out as it is a wonderfully thought provoking channel and magazine that delves into a variety of more practical topics instead of staying only in the theological which is more abstract.
All glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. Have you been baptized? Also, beware the spiritual attack you’re going to undergo now. The devil hates this. I recommend the St. Michael prayer.
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Orthodox could also be Bitcoin Cash 🤔
Thanks to Christ, we already are. Now it’s just up to us to cooperate with His grace 🙏
Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. - James 1:2-4
Thus, a good man, though a slave, is free; but a wicked man, though a king, is a slave. For he serves, not one man alone, but what is worse, as many masters as he has vices.
-Augustine of Hippo
Don’t fall for the liberal trap of redefining the word “freedom” 🙂
One can be free even while locked in a prison cell.
It’s true I often fail. But the classically understood virtues to aspire to are the 4 cardinal virtues (Justice, Prudence, Temperance, and Fortitude) and, with God’s grace, the 3 theological virtues (Faith, Hope, and Charity).
Freedom is internal. Has nothing to do with external circumstances. Many people are enslaved to bitcoin, for example.
Option 4: do what you ought ✅

While this platitude sounds nice, it’s paradoxically causing so much harm in modern society. Strive for virtue. Don’t be a slave to vice.

Praise God. I’ve found it best to quickly read the chapter straight through just to get the overarching point and then slowly contemplating and praying through each sentence on the second pass. Underlining and annotating also helps, as always. I pray you find it fruitful.
Amen. I did a better job with the Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales but as it goes with devotionals, there’s always more to profit from a reread.
Last year I made the eager mistake of reading the Imitation of Christ straight through as if it were a novel. Much better to read a chapter a day while smoking a pipe.
Any particular saint you’re reading at the moment?
Interested to see where this goes! Happy to see the Deuterocanon 🙌
God’s will be done.
