I agree. You are in a quandary. Your thoughts about the USA have absolutely no effect on it. My concern (and actions) relates to what I can do to minimize its negative effects and take advantage of opportunities for my growth.

Coinbase once stated thay you could move assets after 7 days in their custody. That seems to be less than accurate. They seem to not be overly concerned with the emotional toll on people and relatively small transaction amounts.

Coinbase is a great starter exchange and they have learning tools that work well. I use them to teach new folks the basics because the screens are stable and I can talk someone through a transaction over the phone while they are logged in. Once you learn the how of transacting and transferring Bitcoin, I would suggest usung a different exchange. The bottom line is that your assets are safe, just not yet under your full control.

Jacob is correct. Measure the actual power requirement of the fridge. Then get the parts to build your own system. You will actually save money and not be tied to a system in which one oart fails, the entire system fails. I xm in east Texas and can help if you are close enough. Gregg County.

Coinbase has been proven to be a pretty reliable CEX Centralized Exchange. Using it reqires you to provide ypur true identity and a contact link.

I would (and do) treat it like a specialist recommend by my personal physician. Use it for its specific purpose and then get away and unlink. The surgeon that did a joint surgery in 2007 does not need current information on me. Use Coinbase and any CEX to obtain BTC but when you get more value than you would carry on your person in cash, it's time to get it off the exchange and into a wallet not continuously connected to the internet.

Treat it like your personal medical record. No one needs access to it unless you are dealing with a particular issue.
