Earthling of the human variety Checking out nostr-net I don't object to client-side censorship options I do object to censorship at the platform or protocol level. Propaganda + censorship -> absurd beliefs "Those who can make you believe atrocities can make you commit atrocities" In a free market of ideas many of the irrational or disproved-by-the-facts beliefs would be pointed out to be as such and lose widespread belief if they even got widespread in the first place. Censorship is how you get sustainable lunacy. You don't necessarily need propaganda to get lunacy but it can help. Together these two tools are very dangerous. I think I've seen some weaponized absurd beliefs

I guess the question should be whether the FUD has a strong basis in reasoning and facts.

FUD in itself is not specific enough when taken literally.

Some things it is very rational and wise to have lots of FUD about

So perhaps some qualifying words should be added and the focus should probably be on the reasons why we use the particular qualifiers.

I forgot about nostr for a few weeks

Popped in my mind again just now

If you had to guess:

Does Google today provide a net benefit or net detriment to society?

Lot of censorship and propaganda on the most important questions humanity faces. That's the big one for me. What else is google doing or funding that you think is bad?

But also they still provide inspirational products and useful products "for free"

What search engine do you prefer?

Easy answer for me: Yandex. By far number 1 in terms of relevant results in my experience.

Obv not evil google propaganda and censor machine. Duckduckgo alot like google in my experience

Wanted to join nostr for months and months. Was screenshotting when followees at twitter tweeted their nostr address for months so i could find them when i'd finally join in.

Way easier than I thought. Installed amethyst and there i went.

Hope to become a little more self-sovereign in the way i do nostr though, and improve my understanding. Haven't got a high resolution map of what is happening under the hood here and the trade-offs involved in using an android app like amethyst

Zbigniew Brezinski, David Rockefeller, other folks in those circles. A small subset of folks at the trilateral commission, council of foreign relations, bilderberg group meetings and similar groups.

A collection of intellectuals, industrialists, bureaucrats, politicians and bankers.

I'd guess the bankers are closer to the source. Maybe some subset of some families keeping a family tradition going. I'd guess they probably select the intellectuals, industrialists, bureaucrats and politicians that will go with the program though I'd guess some of the selected folks sometimes become part of the inner circle. I don't know.

Recently came across Alex Newman. He has "them" mapped out pretty good. Patrick Wood has some pretty good maps too.

"They", or front groups that "they" use have actually been publishing alot of what they want to do. Following the money and other connections of documents like agenda21, agenda2030, lockstep, project for a new american century etc

Guys like Alex Jones have been reading that stuff and warning folks about what "they" say want or are going to do
