looks to me like you could add additional pubkeys by assigning/adding them to the trustedNetwork variable at some point in initialization.

Is this only possible on Safari, and not in the Primal app?

Nostore is a Safari only browser extension. it can only interact with Safari.
don't know, but they were demonstrating some Nostr relay privacy problems earlier this year by posting npub's leaked IP addresses.
seems like spamming could be another method of forcing us to improve infrastructure.

a personal npub seems like too much, but also wouldn't be that much different than a shared regional one. i guess it depends on how much engagement there is with the system at large.

The deepfake issue will accelerate regardless of any efforts to stop it. Nostr users will be the only ones on the internet capable of verifying information and sources, which will eventually become a significant advantage. Expand your Nostr trust circle and run at least your own personal relay - it will pay off soon.
