We just finished potting up the peppers and tomatoes 2 days ago, probably another 2 weeks before they go in the ground. Assuming it’s dry enough to prep the garden. I would like to get most of it transitioned to raised beds eventually. I keep saying I’m going to put straw bales in the actual garden and plant some in those, but I never get them soon enough to prep.

Transplanted some herbs last night. They may or may not live, they stayed in their little starter pots for way too long.

I usually set it to go for 8-10 hours at 135, and then start tasting. Then I’ll set it another hour or two at a time until it’s done. Probably closer to 12 overall. I’ll do the final hour at 160+.

It’s pretty tasty, I think it’s a little too lean though. The leftovers with beef and pork mixed together are little better texture.

Happy Friday!

I honestly don’t remember anything about that movie. I’m sure I saw it though.

Good morning

I have a small chicken tractor, I put them in it until I’m ready to switch them from grower to layer feed. They can all see each other and adjust. Then when it’s time, I move them in the dark.

This is how I pump water from my rain barrels up to my garden. It’s a 12vdc on-demand pump with a jump starter.

I have not seen one since the second one ever, and it was terrible. My limited knowledge of Star Wars comes from The Big Bang Theory.

It gets pretty windy here, it’s never budged. The most damage I have had is from keeping some spare roosters out here over the winter. The Quonset hut style is pretty wind resistant. This is 6mil greenhouse plastic.

It’s the Texas Prepper 2 cattle panel greenhouse. I added my own shelf system,2x4s sitting in joist hangers, so I can move the greenhouse and not have to level the ground, I just adjust the joist hangers. Rubbermaid wire shelving across the 2x4s.I added an extra beam across the top. And used wiggle wire instead of just stapling the plastic. Also added a window in the door so a breeze can go right through.

It’s a balmy 86° in the greenhouse

Morning walk at the nature park!

Beef on the left, pork on the right. Most have Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke added, until I ran out of Worcestershire. I did 2 pounds of beef each with summer sun blend and bonfire blend. 1.6 pounds each of ground pork with porky power and hot & spicy rooster dust. 1 pound ground beef with random stuff including my own hot pepper dust. And then mixed all of the leftovers of each that weren’t enough to squirt out of the jerky gun. Haven’t tasted that one yet.
