working on getalby.com - a browser extension with lightning and Nostr support

imo the great and important thing is that this is possible. The network is open and there are options for everybody.

Start with some service, migrate to another one, run your own node, etc. you do not have any lock in and and you can easily change, learn and grow.

This imo is the important and great thing (and also why I push for interoperability on any level).

+1 “web based” could also confuses people with a web app. which I guess it should not be.

but rather a signing browser extension

interesting.

How is your feeling there? Is that model something to push and one that will win?

The zap action here on nostr makes me very positive actually. We have to get the UX and the incentives right maybe?

A lot can be learned there from nostr.

how do you measure this?

from what I know TX count is going up (but still too slow) and the amount of players is increasing.

Thanks for raising this. Potentially budgets should become a default in NWC 🤔 or the use should be able to make some global setting for this.

I also dropped you some sats.

no, but a JSON.

(actually also with the USD amount of the time you received the payment)

Lightning works great for AI apps:

Easy for users: one click pay for resources that you use

Easy for developers: easily receive money and pay for APIs

Here is a app that lets you generate images for sats.

The images are generated through an API using L402.

let me know if I can help you. It should be easy for you to integrate.

NWC is a standardized way to interact with user's wallets through the nostr protocol.

You can easily allow people to connect their wallets to your app and you can send zaps.

have a look here:

JS code: https://github.com/getAlby/alby-js-sdk#quick-start-example

nice!

looks promising.

what is the two-tap zap? (zaps did not work for me, btw.)

You could use NWC for 1tab zaps.

nice one, but

why don't they use window.nostr - it's so much easier.

but some albee puns also sting... ;)

you know that you can use the extension with your own node. and that we work hard to make this also easy for users?

:) have fun and send zaps to each other all at the same time. - Thursday/Friday (11pm CET I think)
