Something I think many people forget when the discussion about nodes vs miners comes up is that every miner is a node. And I think there are far more miners then there are nodes that aren't mining.
Sometimes miners don't get the respect they deserve in this regard.

There is currently a concerted effort underway to further domesticate an already self-domesticated global population.
If you are sufficiently domesticated, you will not have the capacity or willingness to go to war with them. In fact, you'll own nothing, live in the pods, eat the bugs, and be "happy."
By fixing the money using proof-of-work, #Bitcoin realigns human pecking order heuristics with those which are observed surviving in nature.
Ever since humans invented written language and began codifying abstract power hierarchies, our pecking order heuristics have become dysfunctional.
Animals in nature settle their disputes using physical power and they do so as a first resort.
This is what Bitcoin does for humans, it allows us to use physical power as a first resort for dispute resolution and pecking order, bypassing dysfunctional courts, rule of law, and other dysfunctional forms of abstract power, instead relying on physics and probabilistic physical power competition.
Once you understand this, you understand Bitcoin from a first principles perspective and have reached the bottom of the rabbit hole.
Fighting for #Bitcoin
The #Bitcoin network and its underlying physically costly bits of information can be used to systemically secure any given computer network. This concept should be at the forefront of all #devs minds.
Humans forms shared abstract realities using storytelling, and then systemically exploit each other through their belief systems.

Global adoption is less about non-tech savvy people having a good UX and more about militaries and governments stockpiling bitcoin.
As soon as they realize bitcoin is the key to achieving systemic and unhackable security of literally any computer network, were gonna see the god-candle of all god-candles and its game on.

Physical power is measured in watts, joules per unit of time.
Abstract power is measured in bits, information or uncertainty reduction per unit of time.
If a persuasive politician can give a speech and reduce the listeners level of uncertainty by the information he provides (whether that information is accurate or completely fallacious and designed to deceive the listeners) more than his opponent can over the course of one hour, he has measurably more abstract power than his opponent.
Unfortunately, they have complete and total control over our slavishly obedient computers.
