The dilemma
Correct.. no matter how you try to encode logical constraints to achieve security in software, no amount of logic can prevent the exploitation of logic.
The FBI tried to bribe a Telegram engineer to create a backdoor into their software to control and spy on what was happening on their platform.

These backdoors exist at the firmware level on all iOS, Android, and Windows devices. Privacy is dead.
"Empires are built on productive property and they're defended by firepower, naval power, air power, nuclear power, and digital power. Bitcoin is digital power. You want Bitcoin, you want to own cyberspace, you want the most digital power just like you want nuclear power, air power, and space power."

Yup... that's one of the main points of Lowery's thesis and he goes into a lot of detail explaining how and why.

Now that Jason Lowery's work has been available for over a year (the PDF has been online for more than 12 months) choosing to view Bitcoin as merely a monetary innovation rather than viewing the technology from first principles in my opinion negatively impacts Bitcoin. Most people hold onto the money narrative because that's how Satoshi framed it in the whitepaper. There are malicious organizations who do not want we the people to understand his work and therefore make sure to reinforce this narrative. #SOFTWAR is in many ways the spiritual successor to the original whitepaper. nostr:nprofile1qqsvf646uxlreajhhsv9tms9u6w7nuzeedaqty38z69cpwyhv89ufcqpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcvd6gmf gave a nice talk during the last nostr:nprofile1qqsd0f68dvf98gvs9am9dp0lu0f4r7xzu2k89rm9tt448axf5tu6wlgpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj70uppmq that offered a small glimpse into this way of thinking that was received quite well and for many people it was the best talk of the event. Saylor gave everyone a subtle hint to make sure they remain open minded by reminding them of rule #3 - you are never done learning about Bitcoin. Submit your ego. Put aside your preconceived notions about Jason or any secondhand accounts of his work you've heard and simply engage with the arguments in an intellectually honest way. Put in the proof of work to understand Bitcoin from first principles. Bitcoin is money, but it is so much more and that is where the real value of the protocol lies. Understanding SOFTWAR is fundamental to understanding Bitcoin and where we are headed in the future
Software thinkbois totally asleep at the wheel.. if you read softwar and understood what Lowery was telling us all in section 5.8 then you know how fucking ridiculous these people sound
