Rent is always an option. There are lots of property to rent.

Trying to convince my wife to sell our house so that we can buy some whole Bitcoin.

Didn't end well 😞

TIL in hashing there is something called a collision. And SHA 256 is no exception.

Altough the probability of collision happen within 1000 years of bitcoin lifetime is infinitesinlmally small. It's not 0 either

If collisions happen, it will surely be a disaster.

But how big of a disaster could it be?

1. Can collision produce additional bitcoin? Or entirely remove bitcoin from existence?

2. Can collision mess with the entire historical blocks? Hence fucked everyone

Altough, if collision happen, we should be able to know it right? Since people will notice as the transaction happened didn't make sense on the collision block.

Can we then somehow redo the mining of that block?

Just found out about YZER

since Q2 answer is A

What I understand is that if

user A have payment channel opened with user B (channel X),

and user B also have payment channel opened with user C (channel Y)

A can now transfer to user C indirectly using B as the intermediary

but since the payment require 2 payment channel to interact with each other,

1, how are the two different wallet interact with each other? is there some sort of smart contract that calculate and store how much of transfer are there that is related to payment from other channel?

2. how does lightning network figure out if there is a path fro user A to find user C via user B?

3. how does user A know that user B isn't lying by actually paying user C less than what user A is asking him of? since user A doesn't have channel open with user C. does user A TRUST user B with the payment to user C in full?

are those 3 problems, solved and managed by the node? so the node is the brain of lightning network?

if it solved by node. how does it ensure that

1. the node will try to find the best path with the least fee?

2. the node remain honest in case of "paying on behalf of" case. to not underpaid others

Hi Nostr folks

I got some question regarding Lightning. can someone please enlighten me

1. If it's 2/2 multisig, how come one party can broadcast the transaction? doesn't that make it 1/2 multi-sig?

2. If I open two payment channel using the same wallet. Do I

A. have two separate 2/2 multi sig? Or

B. do I now have one 2/3 or 3/3 multi sig?

If it's A, then how do lightning network actually works between channel? As that is already different wallet and for transfer to Happen it must be broadcasted to bitcoin network

thanks

Is this real? Or it's just a meme

❌ Buying house on bank multi years installment program

✅ Renting house + DCA Bitcoin then buy the house few years later

The best trick to buy house faster at a lower cost.

DCA BTC for the substitute of major long term spending is the way.

-Buying bitcoin for the first time because of fomo feels easy

-Riding the first bull run feels ecstatic

-first bear market is stressful

-then comes the learning which increase the conviction

-started doing DCA with more confidence

-bull or bear doesn't matter anymore

-as conviction grows u went all in

-but the hardest part then was to hodling on, as your fiat is depleted fast but your fiat living cost went up due to inflation. Selling your corn was never the option.

-the choice was then to choose a humbler lifestyle and work even harder. All for the sake of hodling on for dear live.

Checked out bitcoinerjobs.com

It's mostly developer/engineer

No love for one with data background on SQL, tableau, powerBI, looker kind of thing

And history

And biology (see Preston pysh latest guest Brandon Quittem)

And politic

And philosophy

So I get that lightning network is a payment channel which is essentially a 2/2 multisig wallet between two party and since it's a wallet, the transfer between the two party actually doesn't really "happen" from Blockchain perspective as it's never broadcasted and as it is just the same fund going back and forth inside the same wallet

But what I don't get are

1. If it's 2/2 multisig, how come one party can broadcast the transaction? Or can't it?

Sorry for the stupid question. I'm not a tech guy but I do love digging deeper into bitcoin rabbit hole even without coding knowledge

That is a super interesting dynamic. Thanks so much for sharing this.. and wow, hearing that makes me feel even more early in Bitcoin adoption..

Dear Nostriches

Please help to enlighten me regarding blocksize war

So I noticed that the war at the end was determined by node runner. Not miner

What's actually stopping miner to run as many node as ASIC machine they have? What's stopping miner to not also be the dominant power on the node area?

If a node can be run on a secondhand Lenovo laptop, surely miner can easily afford thousands of such laptop to also dominate in terms of number of node right?

I don't get it.🤔

test posting from nostr.kiwi

where is the notification? how do I check the latest comment on my post?

Really enjoying Brandon Quittem rambling about mushroom on Preston Pysh podcast

Oh wow. That's awesome. Super tempted. If I set that up on nostr.kiwi will the setting persist on #amethyst ?

Also, does android have something like nos2x so I can ensure my nsec is safe?
