That post is fine to be on zbd as a gaming platform, but I don't like it spilling over into nostr. Minds was trying to pump their content into nostr and impose a delegation scheme (NIP-26) that would have broken nostr.

The only posts I want to see on nostr are from sovereign nostr key holders. There are plenty of other platforms and protocols that do a better job of handling custodial profiles.

My recent experience with browsing global feeds suggests to me that some popular relays have quite sophisticated spam filters.

The two relays I operated have gone kablooie from the internet.

I had been contemplating shutting them down because the vast majority of the traffic seems to be scrapers, and I can't afford to run a VPS to serve useless noise.

In the process of moving the data to another, smaller VPS, I accidentally deleted the files, and there's no backup. So much for that plan!

I don't think I'll run another relay. Altruism isn't appreciated -- people just want a place to spam and/or hoover up all the data.

Unfortunately, the scrapers continue to hammer the server, trying to connect. They seem not smart enough to give up on a relay that isn't responding. I hope they eventually do.

100%. Graphene is it’s own league but the average Samsung phone etc has absolute shite privacy. I’d trust that shit 100 times less than an Apple phone. Apple provides no freedom but seems to have better privacy overall.

you’re average android phone is likely 100x worse than apple privacy wise. Apple makes money on hardware, not user data. They wouldn’t put so much effort into secure enclaves, e2e encryption, and private ai clouds otherwise, as all of this makes data collection harder.

Unless you’re using grapheneOS, the anti-apple pro-android privacy crowd is a larp and misinformed. Android is built by google, a company who could care less about your privacy.
