Shitty Electron (why not just webapp then?), the only precompiled Linux binary is for Ubuntu, no Flatpak, no AppImage. Also that situation when it stored encryption keys in plaintext for years and they refused to fix it until some shitstorm.
I get it, the overwhelming majority use smartphones nowadays, but I still have my desktop. Telegram has great native desktop app, SimpleX has fine native desktop app, both with official AppImage and Flatpak releases. I don't believe that Signal has less developers than SimpleX.

А я и не кодер. Использую для домашних дел - браузер, телеграм, музыка, видео, бэкапы фото, редактирование графики, связь с телефоном через KDE Connect (киллерфича, если честно), периодически в игры играю. Через консоль на регулярной основе разве только ffmpeg и yt-dlp вызываю, да обновление системы.
Мне нравится, что все настраивается, в отличие от современного Гнома. Терпеть не могу, когда за меня решают, что мне нужно, а что нет, так что это скорее идеологический выбор с моей стороны.
А с Крысой глубже мемов про тиринг не сталкивался, если честно, как-то она прошла мимо меня.
