I like that. We could implement something like that with the concept of whitelist (verified list). You could also extend that to the level of a user (an organization of one): here are all my verified accounts (devices).

What if it was as easy to create a Nostr Relay as creating a new WhatsApp group?

Each relay would basically be an outbox where you post copies of your signed messages based on the group you want to reach. 📤

You could have a relay for yourself (as a backup and to sync all your devices), multiple public relays for censorship resistant free speech, and a relay for each of the communities you are part of, each with their own access rules.

What do you think? Wouldn’t that help keep Nostr decentralized? Wouldn’t that be easier to implement than group encryption mechanisms (though one doesn’t prevent the other).

I see. But it’s not because the issuance is centralized that its use is. You wouldn’t want to check with a central authority whether you have the balance you claim you have.

What I could see though is a lightning model for any asset: you stake it and issue IOUs against it that can freely and cheaply move through P2P channels. It seems to be what Spark is trying to do no? https://www.lightspark.com
