This is my single bag system that i bought to replace the worn out Occidental bags i bought in the 90's. I also have a 2 bag system with suspenders from Occidental for when i need to lug more stuff.
This stump is likely well over 120ish years old. Likely logged out in the late 1800s. You can see the step board hole remaining on one side.
I would say about 60% of the original stump remains. It has a classic circular pattern of "young" replacement trees surrounding it.

Also with the "thread as you go" method, the string will get pinched/ glued somewhere along the way, never to come free. So you will have to suck twine through anyways.
