Your take is accurate, I can understand that Bitcoin content/culture isn’t everyone’s taste and most “normal”’ people thought the internet was pointless in 1995 too.
As long as nostr:nprofile1qqsq9k04vahllseell55m74n3047y88pzlr0z5yany32st29fapqmgsppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7qgawaehxw309ahx7um5wghxy6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctc87ckyu grows faster than network difficulty, I believe we'll be able to keep what we have in this essential and often ignored part of the Bitcoin space.
Love Ocean - more innovation than any other pool bar none. If you’re a pleb miner and not on Ocean (or solo) that’s weird to me.
My base case is assume the worst intentions.
Agree with this - be prepared to fight
I’m with Lopp on this one, you can’t know the level of psycho you’re dealing with. Even if you give someone all your funds how do you know they won’t seriously harm you or kill you anyway? No right answer.
I doubt 2FA can keep anyone safe from an aggressive state actor (a company would just skip the code) but for protection against regular scammers I’d prefer to hold multiple physical devices that can act as a code provider.
Also I don’t know but sounds like nostr:npub15c88nc8d44gsp4658dnfu5fahswzzu8gaxm5lkuwjud068swdqfspxssvx might know if that’s a use case Foundation Devices are thinking about for their new device.
I was casually looking for the same thing a while back and didn’t find anything. Physical hardware for that stuff was pretty common place at work 10 years ago to get on a corporate vpn.

Maybe an attempt to pump the price then? Still there was another note I saw on here that sparked my interest. Let me find it!

Parker’s dislike of Nostr is “strange” given Zaprite’s goal seems to be “bringing bitcoin payments to individuals and businesses around the world”
Sounded like those Eth contracts have a “shell escape” feature in them that you can access with a admin password. Ultra sound security.
Already set up AlbyHub to get a solution in place but discovering zaps focused nodes is a goal.
Ok final note before doing some work. I can’t figure out if I’m overthinking this.
GOAL: self custodial lighting node for zaps.
GOAL: not having to put a million sats on a node just to zap.
GOAL: high probability new channels remain balanced with inbound and outbound sats. Reduces friction.
Steps:
1. Spin up new lightning node with naming convention “nostr-zaps-xxxxxx”
2. Find other nodes with similar naming. Connect small channels to them.
3: [optionally] Send out some sats to a different lighting address you own to free up inbound liquidity and then transfer back to onchain to reduce cost of failures.
4. ??? Not sure what an easy way to get a lnurl or whatever I think I need too. Server has to be online all the time?
5. Have fun zapping.
Also random note that I think is interesting that I leaned from something on Lopp’s site. If you are going multi vendor you want wallets that have variance in the underlying code or libraries. Some wallets have more in common there like coldcard & passport, especially in the python libraries.
