It’s crazy to think we have to worry about the government and how they react to what we build instead of being able to focus on building the future without fear of possibly being thrown in a cage. For building freedom technology that levels the playing field and brings about the equal opportunity politicians LARP about.

Remember grocery stores putting distance stickers on the floors & asking people to put on masks at the door weeks before any agency told them that they had to? Governments are inept & slow. The companies willing to be compliant are the ones that will make the rules. Theoretically. 😅

Running a LN node with private channels makes sense for heavy users of Lightning. For most people on Nostr that is not the case. Running a node with public channels is essentially a donation to the rest of the network. Not something everyone can do. And if you do it poorly then it's not really helping anyone, including yourself. But yea, go ahead and listen to everyone telling you to just run a node.

How do you receive with only private channels if the originator cant plot a route?

Someone recently asked if I was happy.

Sure, I'm grateful to be so privileged that I'm likely in the top 0.1% of humans with regard to quality of life.

But I'm not satisfied. I can not relax until I see the authoritarians driven before me and I delight in the lamentations of their sycophants.
