I may have found it. I need to verify further, but now beef is on the grill. Asado first.
I ran into a memory leak in qt5 quick. Anyone able to assist? #asknostr
Next part done, now let's go and tackle comments. Close to next release.
Gossip Release 0.14.af
======================
Gossip is a nostr client for desktop.
Gossip is open sourced at https://github.com/mikedilger/gossip
This is a minor release with very special features that we wanted to get out early:
* New Features and Improvements
* Simple relay list. Gossip will just use your relays. No more connecting to strange
relays or other outbox model nonsense.
* Terminal UI: We ditched egui because it is too complex and presents a security risk.
We now support industry standard VT-102 terminal escape sequences. Just fire up your
favorite VT-100 or VT-102 terminal and enjoy the ncurses magic.
* We are bringing back blinking text!
* Lowercasing: automatically lowercases ODELL's posts
* Extended hellthreads: Auto-tag everybody on nostr, and also everybody on X, Mastodon
and BlueSky.
* Language choice: For those of you who don't like the rust language, we are releasing
in golang. We intend to release in a new language every month. Next month: brainfuck.
* Impersonation: You know you can login to gossip with somebody else's npub to see
what they see. Now you can login with their nsec and post as them! If you don't know
their nsec, just ask. Or use the included npub_to_nsec tool.
* Now ships with an A.I driven blockchain currency tethered to GOOGL. No signup
needed, signup is automatic. Terms and conditions apply. Void where prohibited.
Using gossip means you agree to the terms and conditions and take full responsibility
for all crimes that the gossip developers have ever allegedly committed.
I just solved a UI issue on the futr nostr client. Took a few days to debug and find the culprit. Still need to clean up and finalize the rest of the stuff.
This client will soon be known to be pure 🔥 and ⚡ fast.
I have a thesis I want to run by my fellow #christians. Maybe I'm just rediscovering postmillennialism, or historic premillennialism, or something, but some of this seems original.
There are two halves of Biblical/world history: Creation and New Creation. Creation's head is Adam, whose commission is dominion. New Creation's head is Jesus, whose commission to evangelism. Dominion involves subduing physical reality to human ingenuity; i.e. technology. New creation involves subduing humanity to divine love.
We are told that this world is going to wear out like a garment, and be rolled up like a scroll, prompting apocalypticism throughout history. Yet Jesus says that the Kingdom is with you, and that it is the latter days. This is conventionally explained by the "already not yet", that New Creation is latent within our earthly lives.
But what if that is true beyond just the devotional? Jesus says the kingdom of heaven is like leaven, and we take that to mean that our souls are being saved. But what if the world itself is being saved? What if every rock, tree, ocean, cloud is being invisibly, slowly suffused by the Good News of Christ's immanent lordship over the earth? What if New Creation is slowly covering Old Creation like moss covering a rock, and when the rock crumbles away the moss will retain its shape? What if the new creation is already here, and is no less physical for it's being spiritual, and when "we see him face to face" and are changed, the rest of the world — including nature and the physical stuff we've built — are suddenly changed as well?
This fits with the idea of the "garden city" — in the Bible, cities come first, and then God irrupts into their center (for example Solomon's and Ezekiel's Temples), changing their entire nature, purpose, and organization.
This seems to me to reconcile God's apparent intention to discard this world in favor of a "new" one with his obvious love of what he has made. Thoughts? Hallucinations?

We are building his kingdom and therefore expect perfection in our craft, because nothing is good enough.
Property allocation rules: is this a topic about programming languages or economics?
Working on it, soon-ish. Other priorities first.

Just want to say thank you to the nostr OGs still working on freedom tech. We were few at the beginning but this is only the start 🔥

The dishwasher bot account.
Whoever made Anigma.
And all the others I forget to mention. i am sorry if I forgot you, please reply so history is not forgotten!
I have screenshots of most of you from 2022. We all had a vision and decided to start and build a decentralized social network outside of Twitter and wannabe freedom network Mastodon.
Ya’ll have my utmost respect, forever.
Long live nostr. Long live freedom of speech.
We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.
