Agreed, love what Nostr stands for and that you can actually have meaningful discussions with people rather than being fed algorithm-driven content meant to enrage you and keep you engaged.
Out of curiosity though, I want to build up my Nostr network a bit more and see more posts on my feed that I can contribute to/comment on. How did you find people to follow/connect with?
I see a lot of people call #Bitcoin deflationary which is wrong. Bitcoin is neutral and scarce. Technology is deflationary and when innovation is priced in neutral money, prices come down bringing more value to everyone.

Agree with this take. Obviously we should aim to scale self-custody to as many people as possible and there’ll always be conservative improvements that can be made. However, I believe a lot of the work should be done at higher layers as opposed to the base layer to maintain decentralisation and security at the heart of what society is built on. I feel like more self-custody solutions for Lightning and other Layer 2s would go a long way too.
With various layers, each one can cater to lots of different demographics, wealth brackets and technical capabilities. People can simply opt for the layer that meets their preferences/needs. For example, I can imagine my grandparents opting to use custodial Lightning or Ecash solutions whereas I’d person always split between on-chain and self-custodial Layer 2s.

I listened to this today! Previously I would’ve been ranting about the injustices of the existing system to anybody who would listen. Now this acts as more motivation to work on the new system to pull people out of financial enslavement.

But it’s so nice to also be aware of all the great work going into decentralised protocols and the community’s work towards a fairer financial system! Fills me with a lot more optimism and hope rather than being fed tweets about the worst in society
This is so true. After going on Twitter, I either feel angry or depressed. On Nostr, I actually feel hopeful about humanity and believe that there’s people out there that genuinely want a better world for everybody.
