Perfectionism ia the most cunning form of self-sabotage.

Good enough is far better than perfect.

In 2017 I first heard of Bitcoin from my eldest son. I saw it as a risky investment, but bought a couple of family satoshis to appease (shut up?!) said son. I didn’t make the time to look more deeply.

In 2021, after intensive reading, listening and learning (thank you pandemic - you gave me the necessary time to study - and opened my eyes to system overreach), the penny dropped.

I learnt that the current financial system is designed to bring financial misery and enslavement to the masses, and tremendous wealth to a very select few.

I learnt that Bitcoin is a potential life raft for humanity - a peer-to-peer technology that allows us to take back control of our time and energy, to escape the hamster wheel and to relearn the importance of self-responsibility.

My journey since this epiphany has been nothing short of momentous.

After ‘understanding’ Bitcoin, I knew that I wanted to invest my time and energy in bringing awareness of this new technology to as wide an audience as possible.

Why?

Because I want a sustainable, healthy and prosperous future for my nearest and dearest.

Because the more people who find a place on the Bitcoin life raft, the better for humanity.

Never would I have believed that at the ripe old age of 53 - after a quarter of a century spent mainly bringing up my children and supporting my husband’s career - that my life would take such a turn.

In 2022 we (a small group of female Bitcoiners) founded nostr:nprofile1qqs97rtxhtxzxy75y6ywmprnqnptw4hghn8pfmhgzgjjp7wfpr5e30qpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq37amnwvaz7tmzd96xxmmfdekkz7rfd4skc6tnw3ejummwd35kuegentkkv - a rapidly growing movement providing bitcoin education made (mostly) by women. Decentralized. Peer to peer.

I am part of the founding team of nostr:nprofile1qqsrejpaq0dly04vm6ed064l7j5t8hp0p4dzjf8ah2pvmxpz2scm2mgppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qywhwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnzd96xxmmfdejhytnnda3kjctv9uwqtafy - a German start up bringing Bitcoin hashrate (and orange hope!) to Germany and Europe.

I am part of the founding team and Board Chair of the nostr:nprofile1qqstxv29lhnz45fas7mg9mafhsmnsvyjxsve9srrfpvuj23pz4fzsdcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7q8rvpa - with the mission to educate publicly and privately on the potentials of Bitcoin mining for Europe’s energy infrastructure.

I have spoken on numerous podcasts, in interviews and on stages - to try to build a bridge from the current flawed system to the next vastly improved system.

Initially I was hesitant to speak in public. What do I know? Why should people listen to me? I’m ’just a mum’. I don’t ‘get’ Bitcoin on a deeply technological level.

In the meantime I have learnt the importance of my ‘mother’s’ voice.

I want my children and potential grandchildren’s future to be sustainable, full of hope, optimism and possibilities.

I believe Bitcoin is the only chance we currently have to achieve this.

Bitcoin changes you and shows you what is truly important in life. (Hint: it ain’t a ‘career’!)

I was delighted to take part recently in a Fairtalk panel on the subject.

Be careful.

Understanding Bitcoin is life changing.

Are you ready for a bumpy ride?

Thank you very much for sharing your story. Especially the "what do I know? Why should people listen to me? I'm just a mum" part struck a cord. 🙏

I've been deep down in the Bitocin rabbit hole for five years now. One the one hand, I'm just a random dude with this Bitcoin thing as a weird intensive hobby. But on the other hand, I feel like it is time to stop being a passive "information sponge", and start to give something back, to connect with fellow Bitcoiners in real life, and to start making active contributions. Where? How? With what? Still feels kind of silly. There is so much content out there already, so many bitcoin experts. What do I have to give? What could be my part in this humanity changing endeavor? I don't quite know yet.

But what I do know is that I highly appreciate your post, this little nudge to get me going. 🙂

One reason for them to come back might be their trust in the money printer

Toller Content und cooler (Domain)name. Ich freu mich außerdem riesig, dass ich dadurch auf npub.pro aufmerksam geworden bin, mega coole Plattform. Mal ein bisschen weiter tüfteln im Nostr-Rabbithole...

I just discovered https://npub.pro. This might be the easiest way ever to build a personal mini blog! Just a few clicks and it automatically aggregates Nostr content to push there, highly customizable, and dozens of themes to pick from. Wow! 😃

Super Überblick und Argumente zur OP_RETURN Bitcoin Core vs. Knots Debatte!

So gut von allen Seiten betrachtet hab ich das noch nirgends gelesen. Danke @blocktrainer

When I login and confirm Amber to authenticate, nothing happens and the wheels keep spinning. Same in other browsers on Graphene.

Lates amber version 3.4.4 installed. Relays used for bunker URL are up, no warnings or errors in browser log. :(

Any help is highly appreciated! 🤗

Story time:

6 years ago my mother in law was left penniless in a surprise divorce at age 67.

My father in law (piece of shit) had left her with nothing and planned to dump her on social security.

She was working as a pre school teacher making $14 an hour.

We had to move fast.

Father in law literally shotgun divorced her.

Showed up at the doorstep with a notary and manipulated an emotionally fragile woman into a binding legal agreement.

I was pissed.

I showed up a few hours later with a series of financial plans.

And with tears still streaming down her face in the kitchen of her tiny apartment, she picked one.

I gave her 3 options.

1. Aggressive

2. Extremely aggressive

3. Dave Ramsey rice and beans

She chose number 3.

Over the next 4 years she rode her bike to work everyday. Watered down her lemonade. Spent nothing on herself. Walked dogs for extra income. Took weekend shifts at the preschool. Showed up early. Stayed late and against all odds was able to save 12k a year on a salary of only 27k.

I set up a couple retirement accounts for her and whenever she would scratch $1,000 together she would give it to me and I would smash buy GBTC or MSTR.

My mother in law has never invested a day in her life and I didn’t want the news or some boomer friend to freak her out, so my wife and I just tell her she’s invested in “the market” 😂

When Bitcoin (the market) is doing good, we tell her and when it’s not we just… don’t tell her lol

So she’s effectively shielded from the emotional volatility of hodling. Which makes her a very good hodler.

Fast forward to today.

I helped her retire from the preschool. She is now living with us and helping look after her grandchildren.

She went from being near suicidal. My wife and I were legitimately concerned about her mental health. To a happy healthy and vibrant grandmother.

And as of yesterday she crossed 500k in retirement accounts.

I expect she’ll be a millionaire soon.

She can now comfortably retire with dignity.

This is not something that would have been possible without Bitcoin.

As cool as it is to see people like @saylor make billions of dollars these are the stories I live for.

The average person fixing their life with bitcoin.

It’s so fucking beautiful man.

Life’s good.

Lovin it, thank you so much for sharing.
