It is going to get crazy.
One of the reasons I am interested in Bitcoin. Now is the time for us to learn how to use the tools. Learn the skills. Establish the connections. Do the work now while we have the chance.
Prepare with wisdom, not fear.

Will be unloading a new milk cow at the farm at that time.
Looking forward to listening to the podcast.
Keep testing the network and posting when it doesn't work.
Works from Primal for both of you.
This also has value in supporting your local economy.
Whether it be credit card fees (or Bitcoin Transaction fees) or Walmart sending the profits away, there are many means by which a local economy is drained.
By working online you are able to bring some of that back home.
Looks like it should be working.

Appreciate the feedback.
Working on trying out primal right now and still getting it set up.

What are you doing today to prepare with wisdom, not fear?
Get outside. Breathe fresh air.
Move your body.
Lift something heavy. There may be a time soon when you are called on to lift more than you expected. More than you thought you were capable of lifting. Carrying something farther than you thought possible.
And I don't just mean physically.
For mobile, I am trying out Phoenix, nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg, and nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 .
Phoenix is the one I have used the most so far and it has been great.
Didn’t like that Breez required me to back up to iCloud or Google Cloud before I could use it.
If it is just for zaps, check out the interoperability of nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5. Also a great podcast player.
Everyone can start with almost any pack and weight.
You don’t need to wait to get the equipment.
Get started. No time like the present.
I think default is 2 weeks.
Haven’t done it with command lines myself, always used a wallet interface. But my understanding is that it is a parameter that gets set up when the channel is established.
#bitcoin #lightning #asknostr
Phoenix Wallet is showing payment sending failure with the error message “8243: payment fee was below the minimum required by the trampoline node”
But I am not setting the fee. It is automatically calculating the fee for sending the transaction. I am unable to find any settings for outbound fee limits, only seeing inbound. I also tried setting the limits abnormally high to eliminate that as a possibility but still no success.
Any ideas?
A lightning channel is almost always a 2 or 2 multisig.
What that means in practice is that both sides have a “contribution” to the channel. Then funds are slid back and forth like an abacus.
A regular close can happen when both sides agree to close the channel and settle the funds with each getting their side of the abacus.
In a force close, one side pushes the closure. Either due to lack of response from the other side or through some bug in how things are getting processed.
In either case, at the time of closure, it uses some fancy coding that was set up at origin which give the on-chain signatures needed to close the channel.
Let me know which parts of that don’t make sense and I would be happy to clarify.
What is the current opinion, will #Bitcoin fees (layer 1 or layer 2) scale in terms of sats or in terms of purchasing power?
If a fee to open a lightning channel with an LSP is currently 50k sats, will it continue to be 50k if that would pay for a car?
Or will the fee maintain at around a half gallon raw milk or a couple dozen eggs? (Don’t want to try pricing it in fiat)
